Except that year-after-year his recruiting is better and better. That's because he's had time to develop relationships. With a new coach, all that goes away.
I disagree to a certain extent - I don't think his recruiting is getting better and I don't know why we couldn't hire a guy who can come in with some existing relationships.
We have a very vocal minority that wants Mac fired. Exactly like Iowa did with Alfraud. Mac supposedly has inroads in recruiting now and bringing in better players every year it seems. He's already shown he can find some great Big 12 talent (with some big misses, and keeping them is another matter). I'd take a dozen Wes Eik's for every Wes Johnson/CB he brings in here.
I would absolutely not take any Wes Eik's over anybody. He wasn't good enough for the big 12 and didn't want to do what it takes to make himself ready for this level. And I would argue that we're pushing 50/50 that want Mac gone, not a very vocal minority. And again, I don't think we're recruiting any better than we have in the past, I would argue that his first recruiting class was his best, and nothing on paper indicates anything he is doing is better than what we've already done.
