"Unfortunately if a kid’s world is not absolutely perfect (in their mind), they run from the problem rather than deal with it."
This isn't a problem with the players. It's a problem with the sport and the Jamie Pollards of the world are to blame.
The majority of transfers happen due to a coaching change. When Pollard decided to fire Wayne Morgan, that set off a long list of transfers that you could argue are still happening as a result of that move.
Pollard expects the players to be loyal to their word, but I don't think he had any problem poaching Mac from UNI when he was signed through 2009. It's hard to blame either of the parties because they're both trying to improve their situations. Guess what, Jamie, if it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander.
I doubt Jamie's arrogance will allow him to see the double standard that he and the coaches live under. They hate transfers, yet they play musical chairs all the time...which leads to players transferring.
Cael Sanderson and Gene Chizek left which caused many transfers.
Wayne Morgan was fired and GMac was hired which caused a billion or so transfers.
Ultimately, Jamie is responsible for all of these transfers in one form or another. He hired the coaches that weren't even mildly committed to the job and left. He fired the one who wanted to stay and the players wanted to play for. He brought in the guy that no one wants to play for.
Yeah, Jamie. It's the kids.
