Yeah, I didn't like that he was in the box tonight. This was the same thing that happened when Herman was in the box for games...
yeah, I felt like tonight we really saw how overmatched Messingham is right now. The level of coaching from our defense to our offense is really amazing.
Never said he was. But there are not threads blaming the biggest issue tonight which was poor blocking and offensive scheme.
The simpleton answer is to blame one guy.
Whatever in the hell is wrong with the offense, if it doesn't get fixed and fixed in a hurry, we won't win another game
I am guessing that we would have seen another QB on that last series if the coaching staff had any shred of confidence in anyone outside of Steele.... This to me is very concerning.
Hopefully he's not out injured after getting hung out to dry by the QB.
I'm not going to publicly say bench him, although I was sitting here saying that myself. I don't know what the coaches know, so I'm assuming we don't have any better options.
Here's what frustrates me:
As others have said, he got the pocket collapsed on him too many times. However, there were also times where I saw a breath of pressure but he still had time, thought to myself 'don't flip out, don't flip out...' then you see his feet start doing that happy dance and it's done, he's rolling out.
Then, when he does roll out, he WILL NOT throw it away until he's at the sideline, no matter if he's 30 yards deep. You can't always make something happen against this competition. But, if you don't go 'guns down' and shoot yourself in the foot, you have another chance.
No, not all problems are with Jantz, but we can't have 'checkers or wreckers' at the QB.

No one is saying that Jantz is free from blame. I've made that clear in most of my postgame posts. What I'm saying is our issues run much deeper than just bad QB play.
This is the most outstanding QB critique I have seen all night and I absolutely agree with it.
We did - TT defense ate them up because their defense gets to practice against it with much better, faster receivers.
I am not sure it can be fixed really. Line was bad. Our recieivers were absolutely killed. Tech was physical and kicked their *****. We have a big receiving problem as well again that was exposed.
Bruns making the same point right now. Lot of this stuff can't be fixed.
Similarly, no one is saying Messingham, the offensive line, or the rest of the offense is free from blame. Seems like we're all in agreement. Why is anyone arguing?
Bruns is smarter than all of you. Some should actually listen to what he's talking about tonight. He's always honest and does not hold back.

Meanwhile Tech was having great success with those. Our tackling was a bit sloppy on the first level too. They had a lot of success with blocking on those screens, and also cutting them back to the inside and using them as big plays. Overall I thought Tech was much better on offensive adjustments in the 2nd half than we were, they were hitting us all over (inside runs, outside runs, screens, over the middle passing).
