And if Nebraska stays the revenue sharing structure is still less equal....that benefits ISU how?

And no one outside the actual meetings knows how this all shakes out if some events change.

Things aren't 'equal' now. That's a giant myth. They just partitioned out something that couldve been included in the new contracts (the new 'third tier' that couldve been a network) and took 100% of that.

Without the LHN, Nebraska never leaves, everyone stays put. Texas wasnt going to go unless nebraska did, initially. Nebraska said 'for us to stay, we need a full media rights commitment from everyone (so a network could be put together)'. Texas said no, nebraska left, and doomsday almost happened.

I love how some on here are so quick to defend texas at the expense of ISU.

Yeah, the same Nebraska that voted no to revenue sharing year after year, and ******* about Texas' power play constantly.

Third tier rights are "third tier" for a reason -- they weren't picked up by major or even secondary networks and have little value. I don't know the numbers, but I would guess that Tier 1 and 2 make up 90% or more of total revenue. All significant revenue is shared.

Do you mean Texas A&M instead of Nebraska? I thought they were the ones all bent out of shape about the LHN. When Nebraska got the shot to go to the Big Ten I don't think anything was stopping them.

Huskers looked into making their own network as well.

Nebraska, OU and A&M all thought they could get what Texas now has. They supported all the selfish Big 12 policies dreaming a stupid dream that it would be them as top dog. That's why I detest those three more than anybody in the whole process.

It's especially funny that Nebraska thought they could have it in a state with 1.5 million people. I ran by more TV sets than that on my morning jog today.

I found this over on ShaggyBevo over tv rights when games are on LHN...

"There is some rule the conference passed that forced the Erwin Center to provide a stream of the game to out of state, conference, opponents if it was on LHN (or theoretically any other exclusive network). However, I believe LHN is fighting it based on contracts they've signed before the rules were passed" posted by RamblinLongorn

If this is true, why couldnt Pollard/ISU/Tv affiliates get something done for Iowa..

I do like the rule that was passed non the less if its true...

I'm new to this thread. Why would Iowa State have to send a production truck and crew down to Austin when TLN already has those things? Can't they theoretically provide a feed to WOI-TV to broadcast the game locally?

I think the LHN doesn't want the LHN shown UNLESS you are a subscriber. None of this one-off stuff or there would be no demand for the station.

Announced by Cyclones.com there will be no TV or Internet Broadcast for the Texas game. There will be radio though.

2:00 Timeout: Cyclones Have Four Rookie Of The Week Honors - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports=

The Longhorn Network is a joke. To this day I don't understand how any one team should have their own station. Ridiculous.

Check out Welch Ave Station's facebook page. They found a couple of places where live streaming may be available for tonight's game. However, for legality reasons they will NOT be showing it at Welch Ave Station. Good luck.

I have my doubts about this but I saw Jordan Railey tweeting something about how Cyclone fans should go to BWW's to watch the game tonight. I can't envision a scenario where the Bdubs in Ames would have the game on but I thought some people might want to look into it.

Maybe BWW in Texas where Longhorn network is available. There are sport books in Vegas that can't even show the game.
