Get off the farm and drive around the neighborhoods by Drake and tell me there are no Ghettos. It is your happy middle of America, nothing to see here, move along, that is not in touch with what is really happening in America. The poor are getting poorer, but apparently, that does not have an effect on you.

That is not a ghetto. Poor yes but ghetto no,

Lol, anyone that thinks the drake area is a ghetto is the one that really needs to get out and get in touch with america.

I never had a problem with Perrault. This market is already saturated too much with homers (Cotlar and John Miller for example), guys scared to step out on a limb and spark some heated debates (no offense to Ken Miller, Murph and Andy, and Garmin all who I like but none of these will ever get mistaken for guys willing to press issues and stir up heated debates that will get their names plastered all over message boards like these), the annoying butt-kissers who scream over anyone that doesn't agree with him (the mouth Marty Tirrell) and guys that just aren't that interesting (Travis and Tim seem to fit this so far.)

I hope they fill Matt's spot with someone that can bring an outsider's view of things and debate topics with a "big picture" look at things because this market is lacking that in the worst way right now. I thought Matt did that to some extent and yes he pushed some buttons and rattled some people here that see everything through Cardinal and Gold glasses and drink the kool-aid but I'm one Cyclone fan that didn't take it personally like some of the obsessed people here did. As much as people complained about him I bet you Matt and Miller was easily the highest rated local sports talk show in the market just because people like you would still listen even if he ****** you off.

I don't need a homer on the radio...

but Matt was no friend to ISU.

Good luck down the road and try not to alienate half your audience as you start out on the new gig.

A thread about Giggles turned horribly wrong? Yup, that's about par for the course.

I can't wait for the people that are in denial that they are obsessed with Matt to start streaming him at his new gig and complaining about him here still. I can just see one of the first posts now...

"You should hear what Perrault is saying about us at his new show! Here's a link to the podcast, in the first hour he goes off on how Cyclone fans are obsessed with him and constantly trashed him on CF whenever he mentioned anything that wasn't positive about the Cyclones. Man what a tool, this guy is still harming our program even out on the East coast now!"

Well I hope so since they are pretty much the only sports radio in town. That's like saying that drake has the best college football team in Des Moines.

Davenport south of Locust east of Brady west of Eastern = ghetto.
Davenport south of Locust all along Gaines = ghetto.

To simplify matters, Davenport south of Locust, if it doesn't have any money tied into it at all = ghetto.

Travis & Tim, Murph & Andy, Out of Bounds, Mouth of the Midwest, those aren't local sports talk shows? Granted the last one is the only one that goes head to head with them.

I thought you were comparing to other sports stations. Put any of those shows in the 4pm time slot on KXNO and they would be #1. In my 15 years living in the metro, this is by far the worst mix of sports radio that I've heard. Murph and Andy are probably the best of the bunch but I don't consider them to be real sports radio, which is fine for the 2-4 show.

He probably wasn't as hated as Iowa State fans hated him but Iowa fans weren't the best of friends with him either.

it's not about hatred towards MP for me, its more about the central iowa media's 24/7 attacking of iowa state. Actually, i enjoy the jabs and banter with most iowa fans, its just the unwarranted disrespect by kxno and a segment of the iowa fan base. Just wish we could have quality sports radio with more interviews, like Larry Cotlar but with someone a little less dorky.
