Tyrus in trouble?

Not sure about the people giving him a free pass because he's a kid, pretty sure 16 year old kids are tried as adults because they know right from wrong. Tyrus is 6 years passed that and supposed to be somewhat of a role model. But hey kids make stupid mistakes so it's alright.
Not giving him a pass, someone asked why kids with talent would make stupid choices like this, the answer is because he's a dumb kid. The alternative would be that he's just a bad person, but I don't know that to be true. Not sure why you'd think he was a role model though, because he's good at basketball?
Good point. You'll never catch any kids looking up to or emulating their favorite atheletes.

pppssshhh, it wasn't Tyrus' fault, the kid shouldn't have left the money laying around. My opinion is he deserved to have it stolen. In fact Tyrus was doing him a favor. Doubt the kid ever makes that mistake again. 
I don't dispute that, but is he supposed to be a role model just because he's a college kid that can play basketball? Why do we expect these kids to be role models all of a sudden just because they play a sport?
Thats supposed to be part of the deal. Represent the school, the program, etc in a good light while you are there having your school paid for BY the school in trade for your talents.
NOW....having said that...i couldnt care less what these guys do when their playing days are done unless they go to an NBA team i like. I mean do i care at all what Tyray Pearson is doing right now? Or Jared Homan? ....not really. Im glad they came, i loved watching our guys play and support them....but no..when their buzzer sounds for their last game....i dont really care what they do after that.

There's expections/they way things SHOULD be, and there's reality. The fact is (right or wrong), these guys influence kids based on the exposure they're given.
I'm not saying they should be able to get in trouble with no consequences or anything, I understand there are certain things expected of their behavior that is different from other students, but should we also expect them to be role models to however many children? We don't expect this of people on academic scholarships who get school paid for because of their talents.
That's what I'm saying, SHOULD it be this way, I understand the way things are.
True...good point. Although kids on academic schollys are not on TV 25 times a year taking tests...but i see your point.
Right, it just seems like a lot to put on a college kid, regardless of whether he's good at a sport. It's not changing any time soon, just a thought.
You can lose academic scholarships for getting arrested...so we absolutely do expect things of people on academic scholarship.
We expect them to be role models to kids they've never met? I don't remember that part when I was in school.
