Final Deaton (in more ways than one): Says Big 12 "making some of the right moves ... and I wish them the best and all of that." Buh-bye.

Hearing from Big 12 school sources that Missouri, Big 12 are negotiating legal issues, including departure date (2012 or '13) and exit fees.

But Tigers are clearly gone at this point. Only question is when, maybe within a week. West Virginia has become strong leading candidate.

Here's a little info on Big 12 network concept. Would not include Texas obviously and probably not OU, working on its own deal.

Big 12 network would include schools affiliated with both Learfield Sports and IMG. I'm told that won't be a major problem.

Clarification on Big 12 network concept: would not include home Texas events because of LHN. Unsure about road. Same with OU.

And Holgorsen would be an Iowa boy who could coach in his home state every other year.

If it carried OU/UT road games, yes, plus there's still three other Texas schools that would be on it.

True on the road games, though how much draw is there for just TTU\Baylor\TCU in texas? A situation where its too bad TAMU isnt involved, they'd be a big help.

So what would this make the final week of the season games now for the Big 12, replacing A&M/MU with TCU/WVU?

OU-OSU
TCU-BU
UT-Tech
KU-KSU
ISU-WVU

Are UT and OU going to stand by and let the remaining 8 (?) teams band together with their Tier 3 content? Especially if it threatens their investment?

The creation of a Big 12 network just doesn't seem that likely, given the obstacles. I know some have said, "Compete and drive the LHN out of business." But how realistic is that? Consider the leverage Texas has over the conference.

If they (LHN and Sooner Networks) offer TTU, Baylor and/or OKSt. time slots for their games on the network, will they turn them down? (they'll certainly have the room)

If they don't, then the Big 12 network exists on Tier 3 games from the remainder of the North and WVU. What cable/sat provider would carry that? And how would other sports (like MBB) work?

No flames...does someone have some insights on this?

From last night:

10:39 p.m. Update:
It took a while, but we finally got something out of Columbia, Mo.
Missouri chancellor Brady Deaton spoke tonight to KOMU-TV in Columbia, Mo., regarding the Tigers ongoing dilemma of staying in the Big 12 or heading to the SEC.
Here's the bulk of what Deaton said:
"There's no delays here at all. There's some very specific things that have to be adressed. We want to address those. We really can't rush these things. These are things you can't rush. I know fans get impatient I gotta say I'm very sympathetic. What I hope they will understand that this is not a set of issues that one can just press a button and be done with it. There are some issues that have to be adressed on behalf of the University of Missouri and that's what we're doing, looking out for the University of Missouri."
According to the station's report on its web site, when Deaton was asked if MU had enough votes to join the SEC, he said: "I'll let them speak for themselves, we're reasonably clear about where we stand."
Here's the link to the report, which includes video of Deaton's comments.

I just want the money in hundreds when they leave with not much relief. aTm and MO almost screwed the league into oblivion with their frolick this summer. They should have left last year but they were too wimpy. Then they blamed the LHN as the determining factor in their relationship. This is like a spouse divorcing her husband because he reads porno. Just looking for the chance to build the EGO.

Deaton very touched by recent @JoeWalljasper column: There's a deep warmth for ... playing in Big 6, Eight, 12.
