I dont think 61k is unreasonable for Iowa State fans to fill the stadium up. If our stadium held 70k+ I think we would have a lot of empty seats. More importantly, our stadium will have that big time feel and will look great between all the renovations in 2007/08, the scoreboard, concourse and now this expansion.

Side note: with these plans it seems like they structured it how they would close in around the NEZ if we ever get there.

I think they could do the corners similar to the new end zone in the north, then just make a small lower level that leads right up to the balcony of the jake

Anybody else get a chuckle out of the "private bathrooms" line about the club seats in the SEZ? Unless they're giving every season ticket holder literally their own bathroom, bathrooms shared with 2999 of your closest friends aren't really private.

I think in order to live up to the "private bathroom" name, they should hire someone to wipe your backside for you. Heard Gene Chizik is still looking for a job.

I am betting they would leave the bleachers in front of the Jake for the band like it is now. Isn't that area a loading area into the lower level of the Jake when those bleachers are removed? So I don't see them doing that. But I could see them completing the wedge areas at some point. Right now I am happy with the South End Zone Expansion. And leaving the North Hillsides as is for now.

I say save up for a bigger press box with more suites before worrying about the NEZ.

What I would do is make the press box half as high, but 3x as long. But I'm not sure how possible it is with the restrooms/concessions underneath. Still, that's a pretty big project.

As far as the NEZ, I'd try to make it continuous stands on the lower level similar to the new SEZ, except with openings for the teams to run through. They could do the upper level around the Jake and video board just like the SEZ. Or, they could just do a lower level and build up the hillsides to the back of the stands with retaining walls along the walkways. I'm betting either of these projects are 10-20 years out though.

Yup; you'd have to tear some stuff down either way. They JUST threw some coin @ an entrance tunnel & video board trusses, so the NEZ won't be revised any time soon.

Selling out 61k is going to be a stretch, but you never know, I'm impressed sometimes at the level of commitment we show even when we suck. Which is pretty much always...

The only problem is that there may be some logistics involved with loading and unloading stuff out of the Jake. There are big doors that are used for unloading and unloading that are located behind those bleachers in front of the Jake. And those bleachers are moveable. Those things have to be considered.

I'm guessing 61,000 includes grass. The stadium capacity was around 57,000. So I'm guessing a net of 4,000+ more.

Sounds like we have around 56,000 seats now.....plus the hillsides on the north. We really only have about 5,000 more seats to sell over what we had before. IMO, it will not be a problem selling them. More excitement to sell to fans. And the whole thing is more of an event, it is more than just a game.

Seating capacity-

Sidelines: 42,500 + SEZ lower bowl & club seating: 7,500 + SEZ upper bowl: 5,800 = 55,800 Total

You need 5,200 crammed into the NEZ hillsides & Jacobson to reach 61,000. Keep in mind about 300 of that will be the ISUCF"V"MB. We'll easily reach that for our games against UNI & EIU at the beginning of the 2015 season.

there is no way 4,000 people can fit on the north hill, north hills are not nearly as big as the SEZ hills
