Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

He is a substitute teacher in Las Vegas.....zero credibility about his access to ISU insiders.

Well to be honest, Ive heard the exact same things from ISU Insiders.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

Let's wait and see what HE decides. It is clear this is Rashad's decision. I will be excited if he chooses the Clones and dissappointed if he doesn't; however, if he doesn't, it might just be that he actually prefers to go elsewhere, not that it had to be shady.

I agree. Hope he goes here, but from his primary goal of getting to the NBA after one year, it probably doesn't matter where he goes. Just on talent, he is late lottery for 2015 already. How much development can a player really get in one year of college? Likely nothing shady going on. It is just who does he want to spend 9 months with.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

I'm looking at it the same way. With Fred he's going to get great coaching and prep for an NBA career and have a great team experience that may lead to a Final 4. If he turns down a coach like Fred for what UNLV has to offer, he's probably not the player we want anyway. But obviously we'd love to have him and the benefits getting a commit like RV would bring.

North Carolina is saying the same thing about ISU. I don't think ISU is the destination school quite yet if you want to play in the final four and get drafted.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Saturday

anyone that doesn't think boosters pay handlers for recruits is incredibly naive. It happens like crazy. Just do a google searh on former Maryland coach Gary Williams who blew the whistle on teams playing the game with handlers and some dirty AAU coaches. He even got black balled from having access to those type of recruits because he exposed the game. Shoe campanies, AAU coaches, handlers, boosters, to much in the pot for college basketball recruiting to be clean. I remember one case in the Morgan era where a recruit was ready to commit but before that went through the handler told Morgan he would need to get 150 grand to him. Morgan wouldn't do it. That recruit ended up at NC State. I'm not saying anything like that is happening with Vaughn, but it is VEAGAS, and Vaughn does have a handler. IMO, this could have been a done deal the day they BOTH moved there. I hope I am wrong.

Tom Kakert? So, every kid who goes to Findlay Prep ends up at UNLV?

I think Tom was talking about how his handler moved there with him, and probably some $$ involved, that is why he thinks he ends up at UNLV.

I don't buy it, but that is what some have speculated.

This is pretty much where my opinion will be on the whole situation if he ends up at UNLV. There may not be any truth to it at all, but the move to Findlay, the involvement of a handler, all culminating at a signing with UNLV would just reek of some sort of dealing. Just looking at basic facts of top 10 recruit and the other schools on his list, not knowing anything more most people would wonder what the heck UNLV is even doing on the list.

So you are saying I should be naive enough to think that it doesnt happen at ISU, but I shouldn't be naive enough to think that it happens at Las Vegas or NC State?
