According to the article she "didn't feel welcome" that is different than being banned.

The senior, who was named All-American honorable mention, didn’t feel welcome at the practice facility anymore. The program’s all-time assist leader said she no longer even had a locker like previous WNBA draft prospects did for a month or two after the season, so the player who butted heads with coach Bill Fennelly for four years packed her belongings and headed south.

I wonder if the "didn't feel welcome" had anything to do with her making caustic statements about not wanting to be there. I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if she said she didn't want to be there. Of course, then it becomes a chicken/egg issue of which came first and which caused which. If this continues without settlement, then it seems the best thing for Fennelly is to let the evidence emerge in court that shows just how bad Moody was. So, we get everyone's dirty laundry. It is just too, too bad for the program.

So far from Bill's speaking to the media: Devastated and surprised about the lawsuit, but won't change who he is or how he coaches.

Interesting (and a little sad, IMO) that this hasn't given him one bit of pause about the way he conducts himself. I mean, he could absolutely believe this lawsuit is unwarranted and still question whether he needs to make some changes, however small, in the way he treats people. But nope.

Why? He shouldn't change, he is who he is. If you don't want to be coached by an intense coach that challenges you then go elsewhere.

I loved his message! I think it's awesome he knows who he is an isn't going to change just because one self-entitled kid didn't like it.

Even if these events have caused him to re-evaluate his behavior, I wouldn't expect him to admit that here. Wouldn't that just give ammunition to the prosecution as they try to paint their narrative?

Recruits and players know the kind of coach he is. He's been the same way for 20+ years. Sure he acts like a jerk sometimes to the kids, but he by many accounts he loves them and wants the best out of them. If they can't handle that, don't come play for him.

Very true. By saying "yeah I have re-evaluated and I did act like a **** and I won't from now on", it gives the Plaintiff's more ammo.

LOL. Yeah, because holding a defiant press conference to say "I am who I am and if you don't like it, tough ****." - which is basically what he said today - is completely innocuous and could never be used by an opposing attorney.

They can use it but it will have less effect than if he said "Yeah what I did was wrong", basically admitting to the claims.
