Very poor decision by Mr. Smart and I'm sure the BIG 12 office will have a hay day with this one. Also, this fan is not completely innocent here as well and he needs to be remove from the game.
We as fans have to be classy and make it a fun experience for both the players and fans at these events.

PS.....Mr Smart would be a perfect fit for playing for Mad Fran at EICC and the image their coach has.

Let's not play the which white guy can act like hes more offended by the n word aka ******. You don't care and you yell it out at the top of your lungs with when your favorite rap song comes on.
Will Smith does not use foul language sir.

You can bet that the TT loudmouth was in Smart's ear the whole game, and Smart was aware of his trolling throughout. No one else reacted to what was said other than Smart, not the cameraman, the little old ladies, the other OSU players, or the black woman behind the TT heckler. Maybe people can spout n-bombs in West Texas, but where I am from other people react to it.

I just think Smart is a tool. Watch the video--the other OSU players are ******. At Smart.

Is it funny to anyone else that our thread is only about 20 posts behind the Orange Power thread? Do they even know how to meltdown?

I feel bad for the kid. I really do, he does something selfless for his school coming back this year, and now it all melts down on him. (Yes, I acknowledge that he has brought this on himself)

If only there was a place where he transfer, mature, thrive, and rebuilt his reputation?!?!?!

I've been called horrible things by Iowa fans in Ames at Iowa/ISU football games just walking to the stadium after they got drunk tailgating. Things I could not post on here even if I bleeped them out with asterisks. But if I started a physical fight with them instead of ignoring the idiots and walking by I'm sure I'd have been blamed for the incident. Not sure why it should be any different for Smart.

If they can prove the fan said something horrible then Tech or the Big 12 should ban him from attending games or something, should have zero effect on Smart's punishment. If this fan's behavior is truly as bad as some are making it maybe it's best that happens, but a player going into the stands and starting something physical is as bad as it gets in sports.
Sure but judges and juries consider mitigating circumstances. In many cases it effects the degree of the crime, If you shoot somebody you catch sleeping with your wife in "the heat of the moment" it is a lesser degree of murder in most states. I have been yelled at too and called a " n-word lover" and had my car surrounded and shook by a couple drunk Iowa fans. My friend who is black stayed put but my other friend in the back seat a 6'4 340 monster got out and shoved the one who said it and said "what did you f-ing call me" before they scurried off. No judge or cop would ever charge or convict my friend of anything.

It doesn't make it less of a stupid idea. The second he put his hands on that person, it is assault and any level of retaliation would be deemed acceptable. If they had not scurried off (as most dumb drunk loudmouths do) put had pulled out a knife and stabbed your fried, they would not be going to jail since they were just defending themselves from assault.

It does not matter what was said to Smart, his actions unacceptable in the forum of Big 12 basketball. No one is talking about arresting him, just suspending him from the right to play basketball in the conference. I am 100% confident that he will get a multiple game suspension, that Okie State will lose all games he misses and that this will result in Okie State ultimately missing the ncaa tourney.

National media is already creating the sob story that the "n" word was used, so smarts actions were somewhat justified.
such BS. I don't care what someone says to you, you are not allowed to resort to physical violence. Haven't we all been taught since we were little:sticks and stones?

I'll defend Smart here a bit....

First - I have no clue how any of you can say "I don't think it was the N word". How the **** do you know? Just spitting **** from your ***? Multiple reports from a few sources stating it was a racial slur yelled at Smart. When you look at the other video of this fan from the A&M game - this guy clearly taunts players. It's a lot more convieveable he did yell a racial slur at Smart than he didn't.

So should Smart have restrained himself? Perhpaps. But how many of you ripping on him from his actions have been victim of bigotry? Assumming that is in fact what happened. It's pretty easy to sit on your couch neve having lived that and stating what another young man should do when people treat him poorly based on the color of his skin. I've certainly never had something like that happen to me but I have witnessed it and it's simply one of the cruelest things you can do to a person.

If this fan is the bigot many claim he is - I hope someone beats the **** out of him. If anything, Smart could be commended for just a shove (he did not HIT this "fan", he shoved him) - rather than an all out beatdown.

Shame on many of you for acting like an N word directed at anyone isn't all that big of a deal.
