Daughter going to be at Iowa State this year and we are coming for ISU-Iowa weekend. Bought tix, but need reliable, close, fun place to tailgate that I can purchase. StubHub didn’t have much, not specific spots. It was kind of confusing. Any ideas? I’m glad to pay good money and go reasonably early. Just want a guaranteed spot fairly close, ideally with access to portapotties.

Google Jack trice parking and see which lots you would agree to first and state them.

Do what BCClone said first, then post in the Ticket sales forum. May be able to find someone willing to sell a pass. Might need to check back so often as the game gets closer as things tend to pop up for sale.

Only suggestion, is do not do vet med if you have any desire to leave with any sort of deadline. G-6 is an underrated lot if you don’t need paved. I believe public parking in the grass lots is also still available.

As far as distance, there truly isn’t a lot that isn’t “close”.

I would guess, many secondary market passes for that game will be $150-$400.

Be ready to pay a hefty premium to park for that game. The GA grass lots were $60 + fees this year just for that game and they are already going for over $100 on resale sites I see and I bet they get over $200 the closer to the game date too. The guys I tailgate with are debating if we should try to sell 1 or 2 of our passes for that game and make some of our money back for parking this season as prices went up $10 a game and $30 for the Iowa game compared to last year.

B1, C1, and C2 are the best lots for tailgating. The main north lot pretty much sucks now.

Coming from someone who tailgates in C1/C2, that's pretty subjective. I like it for it's ease of entry/exit, but it is a bit of a walk to the stadium and you're not necessarily surrounded by tailgaters if that's what you're after.

Can't really go wrong with any of the paved lots depending on your preferences, but even the far ones will likely go for $200+ for this game.

If you don't mind walking a little, parking out by the church to the west would be great for tailgating. Would be around a mile walk down to the stadium.

Can’t beat anything in the C4 and C5 area. Best tailgating by far and very close to the stadium. Can go out for a crucial halftime beverage

There’s just not much out there for resale yet.

In response to your stubhub point, the A,B,C D, Vet Med and G6 lots are all GA parking so your pass for Lot C5 would get you a spot in that lot.

If you want a reserved spot those are in 85E and the S lots. These lots you’ll have a specific spot to park in whenever you arrive. BUT StubHub most likely won’t tell you what spot…

Adding the parking map for context as many people don’t realize the approximate donation required to park in each lot.

B1, C1, and C2 are the last lots left that you can back up to the grass and have decent tailgating space. The new lots are tight AF and you get zero tailgating space. I get being closer is nice but I'm over the main north lot.
