If he said something wrong, then TTU should deal with that separately. However as far as the punishment for Smart, it doesnt matter to me what was said as a player should never engage a fan like that. Theyre separate issues.

Agreed. The fan has had a history of being beligerent. Take away his donation and season ticket rights. Marcus Smart gets a 3 game suspension. Problem solved

Let's not play the which white guy can act like hes more offended by the n word aka ******. You don't care and you yell it out at the top of your lungs with when your favorite rap song comes on.

I don't have a favorite rap song.

1. I, personally, am not offended by the word. It doesn't affect me.

2. Empathizing and understanding that the word does have a certain connotation, especially when used in reference to a black person, is not the same as being offended.

3. My favorite rap songs don't have that word in them.

Smart now mentally flopping as well.

The least surprising thing about all this is that it happened at TT.

Both geniuses have their own interest in this thing. That's going to color everything going forward.
1. "Smart" needs the comment to be a racist one, or something equally inflammatory, because he desperately needs something to pretend he had a reason to go into the stands.

2. The TT genius needs it to be something loud, but not completely offensive, in order to keep his name from being crushed nationally. His name is out there now, and he has to protect it.

I expect much spin from these two champions today and this week.

I hope they can find out what the "fan" said from some of the other people who were right there. If he did drop the N-bomb they should take away his season ticket. It would send a good message to some of the A-Holes out there.

But I agree with other posters that a player entering the crowd and making contact in anger is absolutely intolerable. Smart needs a big suspension.

Big 12 needs to make an example that this is unacceptable. It's not KU, TX, or OU, so I don't see why they wouldn't. T-Boone does have the money to make this disappear though.

John Lucas said that fan was "bad" when he was there. Tech fans have the rep of being the worse.

Still doesn't justify hitting a fan.

I am guessing he is done for the year. He might have to come back next year to show the nba he's calmed down. With the talent coming out, the way he is playing and now this. No way he's a lottery pick.

Do you think he can play, on the road, in this league again? I seriously have my doubts. Gonna be rough for him going forward.
