Is he seriously bragging about winning 2 news days in a row now (over the Hawks being 12-0)? Good grief. Just when I thought it couldn't get any more pathetic he thinks winning a news day is an accomplishment.

He also mentioned Iowa fans talking about ISU when their football team is 12-0, the irony of which is not lost on me considering who I am replying to and which website we are on.

I dont see any way this guy was hateful or harassing. All he did was say he was not impressed with the hire and this should be JP's last chance at getting it right. Thats the truth, and it does not include any hateful words or derogatory remarks. JP's response is by far the most hateful thing in this whole "conversation"

Nothing harassing in their exchange, I was just pointing out at the end how, in general, Twitter harbors that type of behavior.

Come on, admit it, if our football team was 12-0, wouldn't you be spending the day on Jon Miller's cesspool of a website whining about Barta?

I have absolutely no idea how someone with zero social skills or coping skills became a high level AD.

This is Pollard's MO. He's a ******* puke.

but he's good at crunching numbers, and he knocked this hire out of the park. I really like JP's job performance as of late, but holy **** can I not stand his persona. Petty and unprofessional, at best.

Wow, Pollard's tweet doesn't surprise me that he blundered again. But I just listened to him on the Murph and Andy podcast. He comes off even worse by trying to defend himself. What an idiot.

My quick take on this:

1) Jamie shouldn't have done that. Iowa State has amazing fans - fans who are as loyal as they come. He knows and appreciates this. Jamie is better than that and my guess is that he had a weak moment.

2) I'm not defending it but trust me, I understand it. I've had some weak moments on Twitter over the years that I wish I could have back, although mine are with Hawk fans 95 percent of the time. I get it only in the sense that when you get **** on and **** on and **** on over and over and over again, sometimes you just have a weak moment and respond in a way that you shouldn't. That's happened to me and I probably get 1/4 of what he gets. I made a vow to myself about two weeks ago that I was done with that type of stuff though and so far, I think I'm doing well!

Hopefully with the backlash he's gotten from this exchange, Jamie will do the same.

I LOVE how honest JP is. It's my favorite thing about the guy. He wears his heart on his sleeve, possesses some real bite and is great for ISU. Going after fans is a bad look though.

Challenge accepted!

Pollard has done some great things for athletics at ISU, but man he's gotta quit tweeting. It just makes him look like an idiot.

Why does he care so much what everyone thinks all the time? You're doing a good job JP, just ignore the naysayers. These are the things that make you look immature and unprofessional. You don't need to do it.

Can you imagine if Iowa's AD did boneheaded stuff like this all the time how much fun we'd make of him. But yet some on here still support JP doing these things and embarrassing himself and ISU only because he's ISU's AD, but if it were another school's AD they would be laughing at them.

How much did Pollard call out the biggest embarrassment of all? You know, Mel Weatherwax.

th

Weatherwax is an ISU legend. He ranks just below BS .gif guy.

JP once again takes the light off of what people were calling a great hire and shines it on himself. I understand the guy's motives (similar to how I react on CF at times), but he's the F'ing AD and should be getting everybody on-board a new hiring, not proving why he can't be trusted in the bright lights. How many times have we had national media talking about the ISU AD's comments? Way too many when we're trying to build a national identity.

Clark, one of the good Hawk posters, but taking a shot at Carvers is really uncalled for.

I call them like I see them Rulzzz. I don't know her at all, never met her and don't really want to. She probably feels the same way about me. We'll both be ok with that, I'm sure.

I guarantee that JP checked this guys level of donating before he sent out that tweet. There is no way JP would have done the same thing to a high level donor.

Maybe, maybe not. I guess I just hope he didn't, I like to think he doesn't give a ####. It's an absurd notion to believe that the more money you donate to a program, the more visibility you have and the more weight your comments carry. Anybody with any idea could walk into the athletic department and say I'm going to donate $50 million but I want all new coaches or whatever, basically black-mail the University.

I would personally show up and help throw the existing coaches out of their offices if someone was going to give that kind of money to Iowa State... and than I would carry him or her around on my shoulders.
