I would personally show up and help throw the existing coaches out of their offices if someone was going to give that kind of money to Iowa State... and than I would carry him or her around on my shoulders.

You wouldn't do it if you didn't like/agree with the $50 million donor. What if someone donated $50 million on the condition of bringing Chizik back?

I would drive to Chapel Hill and pick him up.

I guess that just brings me back to my original point, all the money in the world doesn't solve your problems if you aren't doing things the right way.

"I love that our AD doesn't take crap from anybody regardless of whether they donate or not. Last thing we need is to be in a spot like Texas, having to give special treatment to all the high-maintenance boosters. They don't even need the money. Now they have to find a replacement AD and possibly a new football coach after this season."

The difference... Iowa State NEEDS the money. Iowa State has lagged behind in facilities forever and if someone is willing to give ISU 50 million dollars to strap Cy to a rocket and shoot him into the ******* sun... well... bye Cy its been real.

Iowa State needs more big money donors and if we were able to ever get a huge lifeline...maybe... just maybe... Iowa State could get ahead of the curve in facilities instead of just scratching and clawing to keep up. I love what JP has done but look how hard it was to just get here.

Don't take the deal. The $50 million probably won't even cover the cost of spectacularly incinerating Cy.

I like it. Means he's down to earth and is a fan himself

Think I'll give more fan cred to the guy that's giving his money to go to games and donating to the sports programs than the guy who is being paid big bucks to be a fan. Most of us have gone to games, given money and been big ISU fans long before JP started cashing his big checks to become a Clone. That's what JP doesn't seem to get. He's not the reason we can get a guy like Matt Campbell. It's the amazing fans that continue to show up despite his hires of Chiz and Rhoads combining to give us one of the worst decades in our football history with only one winning season and a winning percentage way below our historical average. And what's really sad is after he does his job and quickly lands Campbell, he has to take some of the spotlight off CMC and put it on himself with a silly reaction on twitter that has now gone national. That's not fair to CMC and an embarassment for ISU, no matter how some may try to spin it

Have you figured out yet which posters are athletic staffers paid to complement Pollard?

I'm happy to see there are a large number of posters like you who seem to get it. Thanks for being level headed.

That was the general "you" for anyone who believes that. Clearly 42 was asking one of the conspiracy theorists. Sorry to 42 if it came across as me calling him/her stupid.

You're good people too, probably just me being dense. Better get back to my important job, Jamie and David need my help.

Everybody knows it would be unbelievable for anybody from the athletic department to come on here and praise anything JP (and routinely rip on BVD while they're at it). Not only unbelievable but:rolleyes: impossible. It's never happened.

I'm not getting paid a dime by the athletic department but I lived through the VandeVelde debacle and I will rip him every chance get.

I've noticed, but what good will that do, he's been gone for a decade. But I think you're ignoring a lot of good things that happened while he was here and dwelling on the bad.

JP once again takes the light off of what people were calling a great hire and shines it on himself. I understand the guy's motives (similar to how I react on CF at times), but he's the F'ing AD and should be getting everybody on-board a new hiring, not proving why he can't be trusted in the bright lights. How many times have we had national media talking about the ISU AD's comments? Way too many when we're trying to build a national identity.

Any media attention like this is good attention. There is nothing earth shattering here. ISU gets attention and people hear the name etc.

I'll take the national media reporting this type of stuff all day long. Its when they don't care enough to comment that is bad.
