8 years and counting now that Iowa will be eliminated from contention at the start of the Round of 64.

13 years and counting now since Iowa's last March Madness win.

They weren't in the tournament. Tennessee is. Did 60 teams have a first-round bye? No. It was a play-in game to get into the tournament.

I feel bad for those players. They played hard and had this game. On a side note, this couldn't have happened to a better bunch of fans.

Maybe I should say I feel bad for some of their team. I would have little problem with Iowa if their fanbase was under control.

I'm probably going to regret being quasi-nice tomorrow. Let's get all this Hawkeye talk out of our systems and focus on some Cyclone Bball!

I agree with you. I would say the same. But even Hawk fans cannot argue... The streak continues since 2006 that they have been eliminated before the first Round of 64 game even started.

The good news, for Iowa, is the fact that it was on TruTV and a play in game, which about 90% of people who pay attention to March Madness don't give two ***** about. People will forget in a month or two that Iowa even made the tournament let alone ****** away something like their 10th game of the year.

So i guess iowa fans can actually answer this now: would they rather be a play-in game loser or have a deep run in the NIT?
I drank less last season.

the only difference is ISU fans aren't expecting much this season in football. though, in the end you are probably right.

I never will get why some people have a problem with other fan base expectation. Like last year isu football. Preseason picks of 8 wins, and mega meltdowns by mid season.

Of course iowa fans were taking pleasure in the deflation of the isu fan base so perhaps that's karma.

99% of fans looking at a bracket saw "Iowa/Tennessee."
