This is a HUGE get for Freddy and the Cyclones next season. I think this takes ISU from a fringe NCAA team to a possible Sweet Sixteen team. Kane will also balance out the offensive production a bit between the post and the perimeter, especially early in the year as Morris, Thomas, SDW, acclimate. Awesome.

Watching that clip of Kane, honestly his game reminds me of Clyburn minus the ability to shoot and is a little shorter. Looks like correctable shooting problems though as hes got to get his shot release timed out better. Looks like a great athlete.

Lets not get out of hand here. Iowa State will still be a pretty young team next year.

Young but talented...I'm not drinking the sweet 16 koolaid yet but if you look at the top teams out there a lot of them are going to rely on underclassmen.

We will be talented and I do believe getting Kane does lift us to another NCAA bid, but some people need to calm down on the Sweet 16 kool aid. It's great you are excited, but lets be real.

I thought we were an NCAA tourney lock before Kane came

He's not out of hand. We were already a tournament team.

He may or may not be the piece to make that happen. We were one bad charge call from the Sweet Sixteen last year.
I'm willing to wait and see who we're losing before making any predictions.

I was on the edge of that. Without Kane I could see us being a NCAA Tourney team, but I could of seen us just missing out and being a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT.

The Big 12 will take 5 teams this year, didn't see us being in the bottom half of the conference with or without Kane.

Has there ever been less than 5 teams taking from the Big 12 since it's been a 10 team league?

I have no idea. But the teams don't look that great. Kstate and Oklahoma will be worse. Baylor didn't make it last year with Pierre Jackson. Texas, tech, WV, and TCU aren't making the tournament.

Well I'd bet anything the big 12 takes 5 teams at minimum and I feel confident ISU should be in the top half of the conference.

Ok what teams? I agree ISU should finish top half. In fact I bet they finish third.

But I honestly don't think the big 12 will be very good next year. Very top heavy.

KU, OK St, Baylor, ISU for sure and let WVU, Texas, K State and Oklahoma battle out for #5...one of those teams will be better than we think. We had the fifth best recruiting class in the conference this year. Say what you want but IMO I don't think the Big 12 will be down next year.
