My wife and I went to Carver in 2020 and had seats 13 rows behind the Iowa Bench. I’ve been to many games and can take a lot. They berated the F out of us. Like bad bad. Even my wife. And we were perfectly quiet. EDIT: didn’t feel like going to Jail that night. Lol

living In far SE Iowa, it’s all Iowa down here. And my friends are great fans. But that night was terrible.

so all I can say is F them. I’ll make sure to get the same seats and Karma always gets you.
Go Cyclones!

So the question becomes...is Iowa really any good? They've lost to everyone they've played with a pulse and ISU just housed them by 20 and held them almost 40 points below their season average.

I mean, we can tell ISU is pretty good. Just not sure about those guys. Seemed pretty soft.

So enjoyable to watch motion on offense, tough defense, well-placed time outs, and coaching on the sidelines.

Also nice to get on CF and not have listen constant justification of bad coaching from the usual suspects.

Moving on. This is real coaching. Nice work TJ and team!

The stats on this game are freakish. Cyclones
  • Held hoks to 27% shooting (they were 25th in nation in FG% at 48.7%)
  • Held Murray to 9 points on 4-17 shooting
  • Outrebounded them by 50-32
  • Held 32-20 points in paint advantage
Offensively, the Cyclones are still coming along and need to clean up a lot of stupid turnovers. But, son, they are playing some an elite defensive game right now.

ISU was plus 18 on rebounds tonight, plus 18. When was the last time that happened? Reminds me of the Larry E. years, its ugly to watch at times, but it's the key to winning championships.

That after last year, and probably the year before ISU was one of the, if not the worst rebounding teams in the country. Looking at the box score, ISU didn't exactly light up the scoreboard tonight either. 32% 3 pts, 65% from the FT line. Just a lot of opportunities with 21 offensive rebounds.

No, they are not good. But, in a conference stretched so thin, they’ll win a decent amount of games. I don’t think there are enough teams in the big to play the type of defense we did for all 40 minutes to keep them from open 3s.

There was a stretch when we were building our lead that Enaruna was cleaning the glass with authority. That was my favorite stretch of the game.

Every Hawk fan I know didn’t want JorBo back….. and I know for a fact that most of the Iowa players didn’t either. Maybe not all the players, but heard from a VERY reliable source that many did not.

That’s when you know you’re a grade A jerk off.
