I went in expecting a funny, ****** movie, and that's exactly what was delivered. Happy with it.

The PGA guys did well in it, too. Some credit there for guys who aren't actors by trade.

Oh. And the list of cameos is very, very long. Had to look up the cast listing after to see what I didn't catch.

Part of my issue was that it kind of just tried recycling a bunch of Adam Sandler 90s-type humor/jokes/bits/etc. and it just fell flat. We're like 30 years later. Comedy/humor has moved on. A bunch of guys with "Happy Rules" shaved into their hairy backs just isn't all that funny to me anymore. It was back then for sure.

It really started to fade after Waterboy so it feeling out of place now makes total sense.

To each their own, but I would put the movies listed above Happy Gilmore 2.

Grown Ups
That's My Boy
Blended
Just Go With It
I enjoyed Uncut Gems and Hustle also. Very non traditional roles for him that i think he preformed pretty well in.

Was on vaca with wife's side of the family all week and we watched it one of the nights.

Honestly, I wasn't a fan. Thought there were a few funny things here and there but overall it just didn't click for me.
The cameos were great, the movie wasn't. Completely forgettable.

Some good moments and the first part of the movie was pretty good. Feel like the whole Maxi storyline could've been scrapped. Lots of great cameos

Watched it last night, enjoyed the 2nd half of the movie more than the 1st half. Didn't expect it to be as good as the 1st going into it but it was a little better than I expected it would be. Could of done without as many re-used clips of the original movie when they did some flashbacks IMO. Overall not a bad movie, had it's moments for sure and I think Sandler did a good job of mixing in enough characters to not make this seem like the focus was entirely on him the entire time.

I thought Zohan was actually not that different than Waterboy but a lot of them were bad like Chuck and Larry or that remote control thing. I’m not saying Zohan is The Godfather or When Harry Met Sally but it’s in the ballpark of his stupid yet beloved movies yet nobody tends to agree w me on that.

Him swimming in Zohan is one of the biggest laughs I’ve gotten from any movie. Pretty much everything with Tuturro in that movie is hilarious too.

The Wedding Singer to me is the only movie of his that’s both that sstupid/funny yet also a “good” movie in terms of what a film critic looks for.

I think they missed the mark a bit with the Maxi storyline. Don't think they needed to scrap it entirely but could of made it a little less over-the top and wacky like it turned out to be. I think they were probably aiming for a take on the PGA vs LIV stuff but missed the mark on how to do it.

LIV and the players enabling it definitely has not been made fun of in pop culture to the level it deserves to be, ditto for Saudi soccer or maybe even worse.

Southpark would do an incredible job with that subject unless I missed they already did.

It seemed like a combo of golf countercultures stuff, which includes LIV style and behaviors, PXG marketing, etc. It got what the aim was and it was okay, even if over the top. Taking that out and replacing it with, say, another trip thru the PGA tour would've been okay too...just lacking an "enemy". The story overall isn't really what makes the movie, it was the cameos and one-liners mainly and they did good in that area.

Watched it last night. It was entertaining and good, but still nothing like the 1st, which we watched right beforehand as the wife had apparently never seen it before.

That's fair. At the beginning I guess I understood what they were going for but when the actual competition started it got a little too wild imo

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I went in expecting a lot of callbacks to the original, and there were. Some of the flashbacks were well done, a lot of them were unnecessary. The original is so well loved and remembered that most viewers don't need to see a clip of what they were referencing - we were already playing in back in our head. The competition at the end was a little over the top, but not really any worse than most sports movies. I get why he was there, but could have done with less of the Stiller scenes. With each new bit character I kept wondering if they were someone I should recognize, so the cameos were fun but sometimes distracting.
I didn't go in with expectations too high, and was pleasantly surprised. A few little things here and there, but not sure what else anyone could have hoped for.

I didn't care for the character they killed off and am curious if it would have been different if Carl Weathers was alive to do the Chubbs "happy place" visions.

That remote control movie was called Click. Terrible movie but good lord does Kate Beckinsale look so good in parts of that.
