I'll take my track record anyday. There is no fighting idiots. And you have no clue what any coach thinks except in your little dream world.

I'm going with Rebecacy on this one. In fact, I've been waiting to form my opinion until after I heard from Rebecacy.

P.S. I married into an Ohio State family so it will help me to say that CPR was already going another way with the OC position rather than being raided. At first, I was dreading the thought of holidays filled with jokes about QB coach at Ohio State being a step up from OC at Iowa State. Fortunately, it looks like he is going to be OC also.

You do realize that Rebecacy originally swore that Herman was pushed out and was leaving to become the QB coach only and fought hard against reports that he was going to be the OC as well.

Rebecacy might get some inside info from time to time, but I'm guessing that even what he gets has been circulating long enough that the telephone effect has occurred. He also has been known to make up info to support his point of view. For that reason, even though he might be right every now and then, he has no creditably in my eyes. I'm saying that as someone who worked for the Athletic Department and the DPS and has shook hands and rubbed elbows with all the coaches and administrators in the university.

So, what is the "real" story? Did we tell TH that his contract was not going to be renewed?

We hadn't renewed it, not to say that would wouldn't have. Meyer asked permission to hire Herman as his QB coach. Rhoads said yes. Meyer didn't get his first option for OC, so hired Herman for that also even though it will mostly be Meyer running the show on offense. Herman will just be his puppet, which hey is still a better title and pay than being just QB coach like originally planned.

Is this your summary of what you have read and heard? Or are you also claiming to have some inside or direct information? I don't think I've read or heard anything from CPR or the AD that is this clear.

Who really cares how it went down? Tom Herman is leaving.

I feel almost the exact same way about this as I did when Chizik left. I can't for the life of me figure out why OSU would want Tom Herman, just as I couldn't figure out why Auburn wanted Chizik, but it is what it is. It's a done deal. Move on.

I actually think we can do better, so this might be a good thing. Kinda like losing Chizik and getting Rhoads. UPGRADE.

Herman's offenses did next to nothing while he was here. I like the guy a lot, but he didn't get good results while he was here. We can do better. Move on.

Agreed. I believe I saw somewhere that we averaged just under 21 ppg during regulation(taking out the overtimes).... not good enough

I suspect that he and CPR just had different ideas of how to ratchet up the offense. It isn't that TH isn't any good. It is more about fit. And if he fits better with Meyer and Ohio State, he is smart to go for it. And now CPR will have much more to choose from and the status to be more choosy about his next hire.

I have been critical of TH on this board and elsewhere. But I saw considerable improvement in the second half of the season and I think continuity is underrated at this level. All in all, I think his departure is a setback for ISU unless the next guy we get is running a similar system. We just don't have the athletes to make big schematic changes and not see some slippage.

I never fought hard on anything at tOSU, no idea what is going on there. I only linked the original cyclones.com write-up which initially said QB coach. Making up information is an art you have perfected. Oh and this guy will likely become relevent soon .....

We saw it here first. I'm now keeping score on you guys who claim to have inside info. Rebecacy has been looking pretty good lately.

You're wrong. I already showed you the proof in your special little club ........where people go to feel important. What a crock......you and your special little club.

Your 'email' in the social group said something to the effect of 'as we discussed, we are nudging TH out'.

Yet the night this all came out, you were on CF asking if he was pushed out or if he was hired away its in your post history). If you had 'previously discussed' this, why would you have been asking all of CF? You shouldve known from the get go.

This has been talked about for days now. Rebeca is simply taking stuff from other boards.

The More I read about Tony Franklin, the more nervous i get. It seems like his Offense can be very good but that it is going to take awhile to master. I really would hate for us to have to struggle offensively next season to learn a system with all the talent we have. CPR will no best though so we will wait and see which direction he goes.
