Should ignor the Barney Fife but I did retire last March due to an illness. However, I still consult on 'strategic planning' and do have some neat/fun clients. Currently spending a lot of time in Shenandoah IA working for Lloyd Inc. (see the name on the VET MED addition).........I think this is Chris's old stomping grounds. I do try to put out solid info but the social club boys like to think they are the only ones with good info. See 85's obsession with trying to discredit me and others. With him its a power thing. He can call me out and say anything and I have to toe the line or get banned. I suggest you decide for yourself. I don't lie but I am wrong at times. Things change, like the last minute incredible Angel's offer to Albert. I hope we have Franklin tied up as he can come in and the offense doesn't change. Well hopefully the play calling and execution improve.

Dr. Lloyd is a great benefactor of ISU. Great personal friend of Dr. Geoffrey. My brother actually went fishing in Canada with them both a little over a year ago.

Appreciate the info given. It is hard for some people to accept that they know less than others. In some cases they might know more. Some cases they may not.

Like most here, I trust CPR to select the best OC for this team. I do, however, like a lot of Tony Franklin's version of the spread offense. Typically runs a "two back" set. Run attempts are generally greater than pass attempts. Really utilizes the running backs in his offense (particularly with involvement in the passing game). He seems to me to be really good at getting the player with the ball "into the space" created by a spread-out offense.
Also, he is very well known for his recruiting prowess in the South.

I suspect your brother and I have met and fished together. Dr Lloyd is 83 (I think) and still going strong. Never a dull moment around here.

For consistency, here's another option
Messingham - Currently WR; New OC/TE's
Wells- Currently TE; New WR's
Mehringer- Currently QB GA; New QB's
Arnaud - Current CF writer and Ames High QB's; New QB GA

I trust Rhoads on the hire. It also made me feel ALOT better once Rhoads said he wasn't changing from the spread offense, as some of you know.

Three guys I think will be the OC hire-

Tony Franklin.
Kliff Kingsbury.
Or Scott Frost.

I think a young smart coach would be great, but you have to think that if they do really well for 3 or 4 years then they would run off too. With Franklin we would have some age coaching and not someone would jump off the wagon so quickly.

Those are really the three guys I want too. I'd rather not promote from within.

The problem rebecacy is that for every once of creditably you earn, you lose it because you make things up and pass it off as "inside info". This has been documented on more than one occasion. What are we supposed to believe?

Maybe some of misses are on things you heard and passed it off as already a done deal when in the real business world nothing is a done deal until the line is signed; however, this still falls back on you. If you are passing on something you heard, just say this is something I heard for someone high up in the university. Don't pass it off as an already done deal when things are still very fluid, and don't get defensive when people are not willing to believe every word you say.

The other problem is that you don't just pass on info, you have do it in a smug way. You have to beat over everyone's head how well connected you are and you flaunt the information you get in front of people in a "look at me" manner that turns people off.

In review, lose the attitude and learn some humility. If there is a chance things are not set in stone, don't pass it off as a "done deal" instead market it as a possibility based on things you have heard. Last, don't take it personally when someone doesn't believe you. You could be a bum that uses the computer in the library for all we know, don't take it personally, just take solace in the knowledge that you know their wrong. If you do these things I can guarantee you will win over more posters on here including myself.

I might be late to the party on this one, but congrats to AA on the Grad Assistant position! First I've seen that.

You're wrong. I already showed you the proof in your special little club ........where people go to feel important. What a crock......you and your special little club.

Haha, the irony in all this. You are some high level donor who posts on message boards to validate your existence. Talk about "special little clubs." Get over yourself.

'85 and his special buddies can't stand it!!! No one can know more than the given few. And some of us do and it drives them crazy.

I can't stand people making up emails or at the absolute very least, posting an email from inside the AD on a message board.

I'll leave that to those mining OU for proof they were going to PAC 12 -- like you swore. It was live and real you Bafoon but you'll never see another. Ever.

Yes they did. He was told his contract would not be renewed. Common knowledge amongst those in the know. You aren't. And you ****** off your best source.

I'll take my track record anyday. There is no fighting idiots. And you have no clue what any coach thinks except in your little dream world.

I wouldn't. Your track record actually sucks. Yes, you somehow hit gold on realignment but plenty of other things have been wrong.

what is the deal with wanting Scott Frost? a past Fusker can't be the answer
He is part of the Oregon system that is doing wonders. Bring that type of system here, get some good talent to play in it and could do us well. Thats why people are wanting him here.

Mods - any chance we can give the feuding teenage girls their own thread? I'm afraid I MAY be the ONLY one left on this one who actually gives a poo about our next OC since 48 of the 50 pages of posts are 2 children telling us who has the smarter daddy...

I'd support this effort. Maybe even their own forum, so they can do this through multiple threads.

Holy Crap I read like 20 pages of posts and I didnt learn anything more than I knew from the first 3 pages.

Suggestion to Mods: When people hijack a thread this badly close it or something so that people who actually want to read about the original post/subject dont have to siphon through a bunch of pee wars between two people who may or may not know ****!!

Don't feel too bad. Very dangerous to come out with info here. For example, earlier today, the entire baseball world is shocked by a late move by the Angels to get Albert P and a SITE MOD comes in to call me out because I have bad sources (the source was the Cardinal organization itself ........ they were dumbfounded as well). Herman is going but if he changes his mind and stays, you'll get called out for being wrong. Moron.

I'd be more interested in what CPR had planned for Herman's new contract, if any?

can you confirm this -- is this published .......... i was wondering if this was the case.

QB coach only -- see cyclones.com

This was posted at 5:30pm on the 8th
Chris: is it possible Herman's 3 year contract was up and NOT renewed??? Will we ever know??

This was posted at 8:30am on the 9th
YEP _ DONE DEAL!! HERMAN WAS ASKED TO LEAVE>

HIS CONTRACT WAS NOT RENEWED

It's Tony Franklin - done deal

He landed more than just on his feet -- well good for him!! I, for one, won't miss him much.

I don't think it is a head-scratcher at all. He sure did land well however and that's best for all involved.

As you can see, there is a lot of reason to question your "inside info". Why did you go from "will we ever know" (which by itself I have to ask with all your inside connections, why are you asking CW this?) to done deal overnight.

Also there was no cyclones.com article when you referenced it. The article did not come out until the afternoon and confirmed that he was going to be the OC.

Last, we have numerous people saying that he was not asked to leave including Rhoads himself. You have to admit that based on the evidence, we have a reason to question your info.
