The death of beer bars

We've been lucky to keep places like El Bait and the Iowa Taproom, but the struggle is real.

In 2016, I went to San Diego and visited some of the best beer bars in the country. places like Toronado, Bottlecraft, Tiger Tiger. In 2020 I went back and they were all gone.

Breakout player prediction

Who would your pick to be a breakout player this year? Definition can vary from person to person; could be someone who has played and you think will be a star this year. Could be someone who has no playing experience that you think will make a big impact.

If you believe in the safety hype, my picks would be Marcus Neal and Khijohnn Cummings-Coleman.

28 Team College Football Playoff??!

According to this news article the Big Ten is floating the idea of a 24 or 28 team CFP. That's just insanity. So, an extra 5 playoff games potentially on top of a 12 game season. Note that the proposal would eliminate conference championships. Still, a 17 game season is NFL level of punishment on these young bodies. I guess if they're already getting paid, might as well make them slog through an extra long season, too? As a fan, it would be fun for a program like ISU and notice the "carrot" the Big Ten is reportedly offering the ACC and Big XII by guaranteeing 5 autobids for the Big 12 and ACC, and 7 for the SEC and Big Ten. Still, it dilutes the meaningfulness of getting in the playoff if they're basically letting in the Top 25. But, it's enticing if you're the Big XII commissioner as it leads you to believe you're ensuring your seat at the big boys table and your teams among the Power 4 for years to come and largely shuts out the Group of 5 (who are relegated to 2 autobids). Anyway, I feel like this would be the Big Ten's move to maintain superiority, but also try and entice the ACC and Big Ten. Interesting read:

Highway 20 across Nebaska

Hey, we are pulling a 34 ft RV to Yellowstone in late September. and was looking at different routs. Has anyone drive across Nebraska on Highway 20 lately? I'm curious as to what kind of shape it is in.

And yes I know Interstates 90 and 80 are options but quite honestly I'm no in huge hurry and the different in gas mileage between 75 MPH and 65 MPH with our rig is almost worth the extra time.
