Chicago eats...

Capital grille 90 day aged balsemic vinegar ribeye is undefeated in my 20+trips, it is unmatched in Chicago, or the several othe Capital grilles around the country and I’ve tried everything in Chicago

Going to Chicago for 1-day for work. What is the one can't miss nostalgic Chicago eatety?
Where are you staying? There’s so much good food in Chicago, it’s better just to give you the most delicious thing close to where you’ll be.

Edit to add…just as examples, I’d recommend Superdawg if you were close…or Mr. Beef. But I agree with the comment above about pizza. It’s a good generic answer, and those places will be easiest to find.

There's several other threads discussing Chicago restaurants. Check it out.

If you're looking for something other than the standard Chicago food scene, Maharaj Indian Grill is really, really good. Chicken Dahiwala is particularly good. Lucy's Fried Chicken and Smashburgers is also excellent. Giant chicken sandwiches and burgers and good french fries as well. Both places have more than one location.

This is nothing exciting but Small Cheval probably makes my favorite burger I’ve ever had.

XOCO is a good option if you would have liked to eat at Frontera but want to save a little money. Not “classic Chicago food”…very good though.

I freaking loved that place the last few years before I moved. The aho gado (sp?) pork sandwich dipped in that spicy soup was insane and the churros with chocolate.

Chicago has insane Indian food!!! I probably went to 8 Indian restaurants when I lived there and the worst one was better than the best I’ve been able to find in CA. Last time I had good Indian food was vacation in Vancouver.

If you're at Mccormick Place and trying to stay nearby and within a reasonable budget, walk your little behind on over to Chinatown and just pick a place. Minghin Cuisine being the most famous/popular.
