That place went into a death spiral. The last year my daughter said she went there with friends and one got the wrong meal and the server just said, that’s too bad, and walked away.
To be fair that’s the level of service I expect at fazolis.

Not exactly sure.

Mason city had one but closed after a few years. They used to walk around with unlimited breadsticks. Would always see what looked like college people (maybe HS) on dates and they would order a pop and eat break sticks as their meal.

Just a good lesson that you need to incent the staff. I was at a store at another college town in the Midwest today. The two girls working couldn’t have cared less. Looked at their phones the whole time. Not a hello or goodbye. A customer walked in and inquired about a quarter zip in a certain color. Girls said , “sorry we’re out.” Not a mention of T shirts and sweatshirts in the same color that were available.

I was in Pierce Nebraska (pop 1,200) and the only option for breakfast was Casey's. I got a slice of sausage breakfast pizza and it was so much better than what I have gotten lately. It reminded me of what made Casey's pizza so successful.

The towns where Casey's is the only option tend to have better Casey's, I've noticed. If they have competition from any other regional chain, it'll be weaker in some (if not most) regard.

Use the app. Only option.

I overheard them say their online ordering -- which I assume includes the app -- wasn't operating at the time. So the only way to order was via phone. And they decided a nicotine fix took priority.

As a former Casey's employee (from many moons ago), I found it appalling.

That is bad. I use the app because many times I don’t want to know who is making the pizza. A few at the local one concern me. Should always have one inside.

Last week, I watched everyone in the kitchen of my local store go out on a smoke break while the phone was ringing off the hook. Amazing.
IMHO there’s a missed opportunity to incent these types. Somewhere along the way an overpaid, lazy regional guy came in and totally lost the ship.

I've never been able to figure out how to get pictures on this site. I don't know why it's so damn hard.
I always forget the first time I try to post a new photo. Then I remember, there's something toward the bottom of the phone screen that I can select/choose from 3-4 sizes. You have to see the "post" or "upload" words and scroll on them, or words to that effect. Don't recall exactly. Usually the medium one works.
With typical phone capability, it's really a first world problem :) And that's a good thing.

The old franchise stores were magical. Turnover was small so the cooks were all usually well seasoned and had the ovens dialed in. Now all locations seem to be really hit and miss. I'm not going to complaining though, it's still a cheap pizza and even when it's off it's still pretty good.
