Shorter Dirk is a closer comparison to a legend MVP if we must compare to top 10-20 players in history of basketball. Not just because they're both white. They have more comparable athletic ability, shot and same off balanced fadeaway, I'm sure Milan studied it. Just Dirk was a 7 footer which made it even more lethal.
John asked him if he patterned it after Dirk on an interview they played at halftime tonight and he said not really. Basically said he started watching some of Dirks highlights after people started making the comparison, but he said he just started doing it and it felt good and he was making shots.

That mid range fade away is a thing of beauty. First time he put one up I thought that wasn't the best shot selection. Nothing but net! He should touch the ball every possession and be given the green light every time he's open. Defense, rebounding, and passing look tight too. I didn't expect him to be such a good defender.

I'll be curious to see how teams guard him. Do they feel comfortable enough to double him and does ISU have the ability to really make someone pay?

Do teams try some sort of Triangle and 2 type of thing with him and Tamin?

I think they'll have a tough time doing that with Lipsey and Gilbert on the floor as the lane will part like the Red Sea

He post game interviewed with JW last night. The 1st game he passed up a couple of 3s to feed teammates. Elders on the team said take the shot. He said if I'm open I'm shooting. Which sounded good to me.

Yeah Gilbert may turn into a bit of a de facto as things move along.
No way! Him and Lipsey being able to drive to the hoop is going to open things up for Milan. Take one away and we'll hit you with another. Gilbert looks great. Think we'll have 3-4 players..Lipsey, Gilbert, King, and Milan putting up some big offensive #'s this season. Curtis Jones at nights too. Lots of offensive threats.

Milan chose ISU for one reason only - TJ. He showed Milan from the start of the recruiting process how much he believed in him and he never let up.
My best friend growing up went to Marquette and I’m friends with all his college buddies. I’m on their MU basketball thread throughout every season. They all respect Iowa State’s program and how well we have recruited Wisconsin. Most are from the Chicago burbs but the ones from Wisconsin know the basketball history in the state and they fear TJ. One guy lives in Milan’s town, watched him play a lot in HS and he said last year that Milan was going to be a star at ISU.

All I know is Mrs. Momcilovic needs to request Larry Bird undergo a paternity test.
Bird and Dirk comparisons are high praise this early. Tell you who he reminds me of..Doug McDermott. Watch some of his college film and tell me Milan isn't close.
