Why wouldn't Minnesota want a stiff test up front?
I agree. As long as the scrimmage doesn't last longer than 4 hours, should be no reason to call their doctor.

If they decided to do that, they could also just play whichever of Drake or UNI they aren't playing for the year. I'm not sure what the main purpose is though, whether you want someone who will test you or not.
I miss the days we played teams like "global sports".
Maybe they should play against Grinnell or other small schools in Iowa. That's what KU does. I think they rotate Washburn, Emporia, Pitt State, and Fort Hays.
I see your point because we have a pretty veteran team, but there are still some young guys and these kids like to compete. I am sure they would rather be scrimmaging Tulane than scrimmaging each other for the umpteenth day in a row. Those preseason practices get to be grueling and I imagine they are chomping at the bit to play other competition.
Plus, we aren't deep. For example, I doubt Jameel will get better playing against Brady Ernst (no offense to the Freshman) while he'll probably get more of a challenge playing against Tulane's frontcourt in a true game situation.
I'm sure it's way more beneficial than adding an exhibition game against a D3 school. Not going to lie that is a little disappointing, can't imagine playing Tulane will be that beneficial.

Because the Gophers usually like their stiff test to come from the back.

What does "owned" mean in this context? (These scores usually leak out right?)I see Colorado owned Boise State in there scrimmage, they are favored to win the Mtn West
Up 15+ the 2nd half, Boise made it closer at the end to make it look closerWhat does "owned" mean in this context? (These scores usually leak out right?)

This can only benfit Tulane. How much can a coach learn by scrimmaging Tulane? What if someone gets hurt? I mean I can see doing it if u have a bunch of new players and want to kinda gage where u are at...but we don't.
