The thing that gets me about shows like this, and I know that I'm supposed to suspend my disbelief... but when they flat out say that they have vets in the population, why do they always do such unmilitary things when it comes to their defense?
The only thing the zombies can do is melee combat. If your defense against that is fire, why are your walls made of wood??? Why are there no murder holes at ground level for the defenders to poke spears through? If you have flamethrowers, why are there no pillboxes to protect them? Why haven't their patrols tried to loot machine guns from nearby military installations? So many things in their defense just make zero sense.
I think the focus-breaker for me is that there's still a ton of a new infected popping up everywhere 25+ years after the outbreak...where are they getting these fresh people from anymore? Human reproduction has basically screeched to a halt by this time, and during the entire past since the outbreak.
Then there's the whole zombie-like behavior and superhuman survival despite them not actually being that, they're just human bodies with a controlling fungus host. That alone wouldn't prevent the bodies from not observing human living conditions.
Then there's Jackson itself being a fully-functioning city with power generation and utilities and such, perfectly maintained with no materials or expertise shortages. And where are all of these compounds and groups producing more/getting 25+ years of guns and ammunition from? Gas, oil?
All part of the fantasy, of course, I'm just getting way too deep into it and nitpicking at this point. Totally excited for the remainder of the season, as a big fan of both games. We've got a
long way to go after ep.2.
