Bringing on the Chernobyl creator for this as well.

This could be really good, if its anywhere near as good as the game was.
The first game was pretty much a playable cinematic movie. I’m assuming the second one will be too. With HBO’s money behind it, this could be fantastic. Depending on the actors they bring on, I may very well get HBO to Go or whatever the online is, just to watch it.

Yeah.

I'm looking forward to everyone who didnt play the game seeing the intro for the first time. I imagine they'll play that out pretty similarly. It was quite a gut punch in the first 15 minutes

I'm going to have to do another playthrough of the first game as well, before the second one comes out.

So is it going to be a continuation of the game or just in the same universe? I don’t want to see the same characters, because I don’t want to hear a different voice for them. Troy Barker I suppose could play Joel, but Ashley Johnson, as much as I love her as a voice actor, couldn’t play Ellie.

Sounds like they are going to be adapting the first game as the first season.

I don't wanna watch this because it's yet another zombie show.

But I think I have to watch it because folks were so into the video game story.

I think you'll be happy. While yes, something like zombies are a threat, the game was much more about the relationship of Joel and Ellie, with the post-apocalypse (and the infected that inhabit parts of it) simply being the setting. You don't really see large hordes of them in the game like in things like walking dead, more small numbers that are often best snuck by.

Good, really curious how much of the game story they stick too.

I always heard amazing things about the game and really wanted to play it but never had a Playstation (after PS2).

So far the reviews have been really good so looking forward to it.

I really enjoyed the first game but the second game pretty much killed my excitement for the franchise and this show.

Couldn't disagree more.

I thought the second game had a better, deeper story with more emotional oomph. Plus better gameplay. Honestly think it's better than the original and that's a high bar for me

Yup 2nd game was awesome. Gameplay was so much better. The acting, presentation, and technical aspects of the game are top notch. Story had just as much impact as the first one.

The only good thing about TLOU Part 2 was the gameplay. The story was atrocious.
The gameplay was slightly improved but I agree story was garbage and pacing was poor. I dont think gameplay is what makes anyone a fan of the games because plenty of other games have superior gameplay
