I have no idea if Sage will win the starting job with the Vikes, but that's superficial for this Packer fan. I enjoyed the successful two-year run he had with ISU and rooted for him when he got a cup of coffee with the Dolphins. I liked him more when I read he grew up a Packer fan and hoped the Pack would sign him (several years ago).

Then I started to have doubts. First, he's hanging out with ex-hawks at Tim Dwight's football camp in Iowa City. Now he's excited to play for the Vikings. When did Sage go over to the dark side? :jimlad:

just to let everyone know, sage will not be handed the job in minnesota. actually, i'd rather see jackson get the job. it will come down to who wins the job in camp and if jackson can win the job (i think he will) he will be at least a little bit improved and we'll have a very solid backup. go vikings!!!!
A little bit improved would still make him an overpaid, less talented Todd Marinovich.

AA played so poorly in games that he was the major reason ISU lost? False.

That's my issue with Sage as well, he's inconsistent and at the worst times.

The thing I would argue is some of Sage's mistakes are made based on lack of actual in-game experience (argued that earlier). Hopefully he can correct that over the course of a 16 game season.

TJack's problem is that he has the experience but he still does things a second year guy that has played almost two full seasons should not. He short arms passes, he doesn't audible when necessary, he makes poor reads.

I think Sage's lack of "clutchness" might disappear the more often he is put in situations where it is necessary to be clutch. At least that's what I hope anyway...

I would say a comparison could be made with both having ups and downs that both won and lost games. In fact, Sage's record as a starter last year was better than AA. That's not to degrade AA, I think he will be a good player for Iowa State. My point is that Sage has shown he can win.

As it turns out the Vikings CAN happen to anyone... even Sage Rosenfels.

Could be the greatest thing ever or the worst...
And strange enough, I look forward to either scenario.

To be sure, my beloved horned masochists, this offering to the Viking Gods has reached epic proportions... this time it's one of our own.

Enjoy.

Hey, I remember Mike Taylor. I loved that show! Didn't know he played at ISU. Greg Hester must have stole all his bench thunder.

FYI...part of the reason the Texans could only get a 4th rounder out of him this year is that he is closer to the end of his contract with them. After the 2009-2010 season he was an unrestricted free agent and could leave without the Texans receiving any compensation whatsoever. So in effect his trade stock dropped in part due to the passage of time. Carry on.

You would think the price would go up since the Vikes are in a more desperate situation than last year.

I don't care what he costs. It's Sage the Rage, man!

No, the vikes have more leverage on them this year, cause if the texans didn't come down in price they could just say fine, we'll wait til next year when we can just sign him without having to trade any draft picks.
