This is tough for me as a Bears fan and an ISU alum. I'm happy that Sage will get a real chance to start though I hope he goes 0-2 versus the Bears each season.

just to let everyone know, sage will not be handed the job in minnesota. actually, i'd rather see jackson get the job. it will come down to who wins the job in camp and if jackson can win the job (i think he will) he will be at least a little bit improved and we'll have a very solid backup. go vikings!!!!

I have a feeling that Viking fans who are also Cyclone fans feel better about this than just your ordinary Viking fan.

I am very confident that he is an upgrade from TJ and Gus. If you don't agree, you didn't watch many Vikings games last year. Gus had the wins but most of them it seemed he tried his best to lose. With TJ you don't know what you are getting from game to game and it's downright scary.

Yes, it adds excitement for me that he is a Cyclone, but it's not main reason why I like it. I wish we could do better than Sage but with the big name players we have across our roster Sage is about all you can ask for.

An average QB could take this team very deep in the playoffs and I think Sage brings us closer to average at that position.

The haters are probably green bay fans. (booooo)

Boooooooooo .... As a Cyclone fan, I'd be happy to see Sage get a chance to start for a <coughs> "good" team. However, as a Packers fan (and anti-minnesota in general), there are at least two games a year that I'd be rooting against him. I'd be okay if as mentioned by another poster, he had great stats, but minnesota still lost those games.

Jackson WON'T get the job. See Letter to the front office from Adrian Peterson (Adrian Peterson's Open Letter to the Minnesota Vikings' Front Office) Jackson's days with the Vikings are numbered.
Frerotte has also said that he will return to the Vikings if it is clear that he will be the starter. At his age, nothing is clear.

With all the ******* Greencheese and looser Bearscat fans around asking for only 2 losses for Sage, its no wonder Sage hasn't had a lot of success in the NFL. Root for a real team and forget about the post Favre Pack and the Post Ditka Bears.

I would hate for him to go just because I live in Houston.
He had some pretty bad games this year and yes I'm another that hates the Vikings. Mostly due to family I have in northen Iowa that sound a bit too much like hawk fans when it comes to there team in purple. So if he does go to the viking and stink it up I guess I won't mind too much.
