In an atmosphere of food trucks (taco trucks) being the uber coolness, Taco Bell running wildly successful marketing game, and a well established local chain (tastys) let’s open a bunch of taco restaurants owned by white people. Great plan.I never understand it.

We went to Taco Hangover a few weeks ago at lunch on a friday and it was empty. Like maybe 2 other tables in use at noon.

Supposedly you can no longer order your tacos a la carte anymore. Not a great move in my opinion. I've been to the Urbandale location a few times and I was never that impressed.

We liked Jefferoni’s in Altoona. One of their items was Mac and cheese with chicken. I thought it had too much chicken something they probably didn’t hear too often. Heard they found that their menu was complicated and needed something simpler. Was at BBB over the weekend and it was very busy

I notice a familiar trend with this list. They have a successful restaurant and then they think they can add more. I'm guessing Bacon,Bacon, Bacon is the next one out the door. I'm also going to say that Planet Sub in Johnston will not make 2018. Sounds like Pita Pit was more of a location issue.

The thing that bothers me about the bacon jethros is that they dont have waffle fries there. Only jethros without them. Dumb choice.

I am really surprised Taco Hangover has made it this long. They have had a coming soon in Ankeny for over a year. I assume the other locations are suffering and they don't want to over leverage themselves.

That whole company has made some odd decisions.

Taking the busiest patio spot in the city and rebranding it (Saints on 50th to taco hangover)
Opening up mavericks near jordan creek, switching it into a saints (which likely caused confusion with 2 Saints a couple miles from each other in WDM). Eventually when that failed, switching into a short lived bbq place for a bit.

Saints seemed like it had a good thing going for awhile there, but now theyre down to beaverdale and waukee.

I'm sure there are numbers reasons they did so, but from the outside its a good amount of turnover.

Don't forget the most amazing Maid Rite of all-time. At least according to the folks who are from there...like my wife. It's a loose meat trash sandwich, it isn't rocket science.
