Re: Paige chooses UNC over ISU

I really hope neither HB nor Paige see the NCAA tournament. More so that UNC doesn't than anything else.

Better than Kansas.

Or Iowa. He would have been nice, but with Sledge coming in it isn't the end of the world. It is nice that he went away so we don't have to see him. Also, if he were to go to Iowa, that may have gone a long way to revitalize their program. All in all, this may be the second best option.

No Roy is a **** poor developer of talent. He and Bill Self both have done nothing with lesser talent, they get top level talent year after year so that hides there lack of real ability. They are salesman who lean on the programs they coach.

Half right...Roy sucks as a coach, but Self is a heck of a coach as much as I hate to admit it.

I don't want to sound like I think Kansas deserved to get Paige, because I don't think that at all. But it's a little maddening that Roy flat-out refused to recruit against Carolina while he was at Kansas. I'm not sure he ever went East of the Mississippi during his 15 years at Kansas.

Re: Paige chooses UNC over ISU

HB did go for 9 pts and 3 rebounds in 26 minutes in a 6 point win at UVa.

The same UVa we beat by, what, 13? In their house?

Wasn't he supposed to be a first-team All American? Not freshman AA, but the whole thing AA? How is that working out?

Probably about as well as this will for this Paige, whoever he is. Have fun underachieving and not developing! Anyhow, have fun being just another UNC recruit who will disappoint the fans! Enjoy the glory!
Go Duke!

I disagree with this. I'm of the belief that both Iowa and Iowa St. need to keep these kids instate and show that it's still "cool" to go to your home universities. Once one of these kids does that, I think it will help out both these schools in keeping the talent in the borders.

If this is where he wants to go, it is better it happens early so the coaches don't need to waste time on him. At his size I doubt he would be a program changer. After seeing Barnes, he isn't either. Not like Tinsley.

Okay, time to stop the bleeding. Top Iowa kids can't keep leaving in droves, so it's time for Fred and that McCaffery guy to step up their games.

Good for Marcus. Great to see Iowa players go play for a big time team with that kind of tradition. Pretty sure Marcus has stated that hes been a Tar Heel fan growing up. Great to see him fulfill his dreams

This kid is overated. I saw him during state last year and he got eating alive. By the time he arrives on campus tarheel fans won't even want roy to recruit jok.

I'll help, since he's so young I don't know much besides what I've heard here. Do we actually have a good shot at Jok, or is it message board cool-aid?

Peter himself doesn't know right now, and anything else you hear about him leaning somewhere is just not true.
