As pathetic you clearly think any kind of criticism of any Iowa State athletic event is, it’s at least equally pathetic the way you sit on some ever-knowing smartass perch slinging smug comments at people in a GAME THREAD. It’s a FAN FORUM. Perhaps CycloneGeriatrics or ApatheticClones, or possibly FlacidCloneBoner.com are better sites for your stupid thoughts. And they are legitimately stupid thoughts most of the time.
you swung for the fences there and whiffed.

What's better, them circlejerking or you doing it alone in every thread while you prove to everyone how much better of a person you are?

When did I say I'm a better person? Quite the projection there. Thanks for following though.

I'd guess you'd take the first one fwiw.

I think my biggest frustration was a failure to identify areas of need this off-season. You don’t need 12 grinders on a team. Defense first guys who play hard are great, but we have no one who can drive the basketball and about 1 and a half jump shooters. Between Rob, Watson, Jaz, Tre, Shoon, Ward and Lipsey there’s just too much redundancy. Good defenders and good energy but very limited offense.
Those guys are easier to recruit. Like picking up 6s at The Cave Inn.

This is true!

But so is the fact that the team has not played very well of late! People are being dramatic, but it's just as dramatic to pretend that there's nothing concerning about the team routinely falling apart down the stretch lately.
It feels like the 2018/19 season without the infighting and without the nba talent

And while I defend TJ, I think its fair to question why Tre King didn't play more in the 2nd half. Perplexing.
His energy was so good the first half even Settles was complimentary. Jaz took his minutes second half despite not really contributing anything.

Wait... what did you expect from this season? Are claiming going to 2 Ncaa tournaments after the **** Prohm left is not good enough, and unacceptable.

There are a whole bunch of people that would have struggled with the Johnny Orr years.

Again, I'm showing the far swinging emotions that people have. It's not like there's much alternative.

I will agree with that. I always laugh when after a big win everyone says "pay the coach! extend him! lifetime contract!" because inevitably he's going to hit a downturn like this. We're another 4-8 football season away from Campbell's seat getting warm, and who would have imagined that two years ago.

We remind me of some those early Jamie Dixon tcu teams that could beat anyone any given night or have head scratching losses. Not great talent, but almost always great effort

The ceaseless holier-than-thou act that comes out after every loss is exhausting. We get it, no one on here is a D1 coach so no one should be making any comments on the game other than "the coach is right always."

I've seen people suggest lately with the lackluster crowds that we need to get back to high scoring offenses, and I really doubt that's true. But man, you have to have some minimal offensive competence and we just grind to a halt way too often.

Yeah I would agree with that. We don't need to have a high tempo high scoring team, but we do need to have an effective offense that can get points when needed and not go through massive scoring droughts seemingly every game.

Not saying he was the difference between us losing and winning, but what did he do tonight that could have changed the game around? 0-3 shooting the ball from the field, 2 rebounds, 2 fouls and 2 turnovers.
We lost this game between our ears. The flagrant 2 foul on WV should have been massive for us, as we had a nice lead. Instead we get a double technical . We miss our free throws and they end up with 5 points. Game changer.
I am not very pleased with Grill. Seems like he has lost it mentally and physically.

It's honestly amazing how so many on here aren't in reality when it comes to the tourney. Are we playing crappy? Overall yes but tonight showed us a spark even in a loss.

Whether you agree with it or not, and many will die on this hill saying it's not true, we are making the tourney and we won't be worse than an 8/9 seed.
Sure hope you're right. The team has been playing like they are already in and don't need the Ws.

Then stop watching. It's that simple.

Man this is pure gold reading some of you tantrum cliffdwellers.
Dude I agree with you that a lot of the ranting is over the top but this team looked like the best team in the conference after 7 games. Right now they are the worst team in the conference heading into the post season. It really has been an epic collapse.

Tamin has to find a way to make himself an offensive threat. Teams are literally guarding him from the free throw line. He has to have at least one move in the bag.
Alien Iverson couldn't get to the hoop if defenders would've sagged on him like they do Tamin. He desperately needs a pull up, or floater in his arsenal.

In the long run, talent wins out. We aren't very talented. This roster is EXTREMELY flawed and that's being addressed via recruiting BUT TJ is going to have to be willing to change his style up some because this "hope to hold the opponent in the 50s to win" style isn't ever going to work consistently.
Agreed. The talent is coming and I'm very excited to see the next couple years shake out but I do think it's important that offense is weighted a bit more in the portal this offseason. A real threat at the two and a serviceable center would fit in so well with what's returning and coming next year.
