They’ve figured out we’re not very fun to watch.

The fact is, as much as winning trumps all, offense is what entertains most fans. And being an incredibly inept offensive team is not entertaining to that many people. And I think that goes more so the younger someone is and the less experienced with watching basketball that they are

Otz’s career arc playing out similarly to Mike Boynton’s. Good recruiter, nice guy, needs a f**k ton of talent and even then likely just not a good enough coach to make much of an impact.
He's in his 2nd year and we have the best recruiting class of all time coming in. Let's give him a little time. He is also coaching against a lot of hall of fame coaches. He will learn.

TJ has some giant blind spots. The defense is all Kyle Green FYI.

for context... last year prior to drawing a team without a coach and getting Wisky without their PG in the second half, they looked exactly like this at the end of the season. hapless. i am not sure they get that draw again?
I think Otz would be completely in over his head without Kyle Green. Let’s hope he stays.

There are also fans that now want Lipsey off the floor and 2 months ago couldn't stop praising him.

Weird take. He's been worse than he was two months ago, so of course he's going to draw criticism.

I don't think Grill was why we lost tonight, but overall he has been a hot head of late. Not sure what's going on, but between that and being hurt, he is almost unplayable
Not saying he was the difference between us losing and winning, but what did he do tonight that could have changed the game around? 0-3 shooting the ball from the field, 2 rebounds, 2 fouls and 2 turnovers.

Chill. The Otz talent hasn't arrived; Brockington was a surprise to everyone and Hunter was a Prohm guy. Gabe is a good culture guy and the others are roll players; Otz inherited a dumpster fire and will be in the tourney 2 years in a row. Now he has two top 10 classes coming in the next two years - give the guy some credit.

And in 2015 fans were convinced that ISU was flying high until they met a .500 UAB team that themselves played like dog crap to beat ISU.

They may very well lose in the first round and the folks who wanted a long list of blue blood candidates can circle jerk into football season about how terrible making the tourney is.
ya. i get it. anything can still happen.

its the insanity of us continuing to do losing things down the stretch by design that is concerning.

After the under 8:00 timeout, we shot 4-13 and gave up a five point lead. WVU was 4-7 in that stretch and more importantly, 12-15 on FTs, while we were 2-4. Both teams were in double bonus, yet we only shot 4 FTs in last 8 minutes, while WVU shot 15. So, WVU went last 6:30 without fouling . . . .

I think my biggest frustration was a failure to identify areas of need this off-season. You don’t need 12 grinders on a team. Defense first guys who play hard are great, but we have no one who can drive the basketball and about 1 and a half jump shooters. Between Rob, Watson, Jaz, Tre, Shoon, Ward and Lipsey there’s just too much redundancy. Good defenders and good energy but very limited offense.

Our inability to play small ball at the end of games is terrible coaching
It does seem like a mistake. I get that it’s the starting lineup, but just not enough scoring. Not aggressive enough getting to the hoop at the end and they were. It’s a guards game, especially when you don’t have a great big man. Great game from Gabe in his last at Hilton, definitely gave his all.

Tamin has to find a way to make himself an offensive threat. Teams are literally guarding him from the free throw line. He has to have at least one move in the bag.

And yet I got clowns dumbing me for pointing that out. But sure, lets put all our eggs in one shooters basket and then come into this year with no first option. Dumb.

What's better, them circlejerking or you doing it alone in every thread while you prove to everyone how much better of a person you are?

Again, I'm showing the far swinging emotions that people have. It's not like there's much alternative.
