Retweeted by George and Talen. I hope that means we are still in hot pursuit although I wouldn't mind a juco or grad transfer stretch 4 instead.

I envision lack of a stretch 4 being one potential roster hole for next year with the only additions at that position being Jacobson and freshmen. I expect Jacobson to be more of a guy who gives us toughness minutes off the bench and mostly rebounds and cleans up around the hoop but we'll see if his shot has improved enough to be a legitimate threat. Hopefully Zion can grow into that small forward who can stretch the floor and contribute a little there next year. I think if we do end up having an open spot we'll pursue Harris before we end up looking at JuCo or grad transfers.

I’m a best available fan, but I doubt we’re able to land a NCOY type at any position.

A big time shooter at guard would be redundant, but a stretch 4 would pull out defenders while receiving passes from NWB/Wigginton. A huge schematic impact. It’s an asset that appears to be missing, although maybe Jacobson or Young add it.

Harris may be too good of scorer to pass on, although his size adds some risk. Looking past 18-19, another lead guard would be nice.

Harris just screams Tyronn Lue to me, and he just absolutely tore us apart when he was at Nebraska.

If a scholarship opens I do feel Harris will be the staff's initial priority. The fact that THT and Conditt are in contact with him (via Twitter at min) is the smoke that indicates as much.
We have to remember we do lose D-Jax outside shooting next year with out an obvious replacement. I see Harris as that guy.
Also before we debate is it Harris or Stretch PF X. X may not become available to the staff or not looking to come off the bench (assuming Lard and Solo are the starting @ the post). Playing time is especially important with JC or grad transfers.
In a pinch we could see Zion, THT or even Conditt as that stretch PF/C for limited minutes next year too if the staff wants that element with the current roster.

Weren’t there comments that Jacobson wanted to play more of the stretch 4/5 role? Of course, even Prohm alluded to how Young’s outside shooting would be a part of our offense this year, so we’ll see.

Yeah, I think improving his mid range and even outside shot is something he's focusing on with his off year. It'd be great if he did that and was effective with it, but he didn't really prove that in his two seasons at nebrasketball so I'll wait and see.

Talley shouldn't be disregarded as a stretch PF possibility if he can develop his outside shot over this next year. I know he hasn't shown yet, but it appeared that was part of the staff's plan for him.

Right, his true shooting and effective shooting percentages were very similar to Beverly’s this year. His rebounding and defensive contributions were his strengths.

Wasn't he more of stretch player for Waukee? I think Nebraska wanted his back to the basket most of the time and that's why he wanted to leave.

Sorry if already discussed, but do we want five players in the same class? Three potential starters in this class plus five more top 100 guys right behind them. I could see it causing some class balance problems down the road. I would think it would be hard to bring in top talent with all of these guys locking up playing time.

Great play design by the head coach.
Coach Dale: All right, listen up.
Here's what we're gonna do.
Tyler, they'll be expecting you
to take the last shot.
We're gonna use you as a decoy.
Buddy, you get the ball,
give it to Merle on the picket fence.
He's gonna take the last shot.
All right, let's go.
What's the matter with you guys?
What's the matter with you?

Ideally, no. Tyler will definitely be in the mix of options if a scholarship opens up and class balance may have to take a back seat to talent. Class balance is a goal but not the ultimate goal.

Agreed. Class balance has a marginal affect on recruiting these days compared to 10-20-30 years ago. Most high level programs should only care about making the roster as good as possible in a 1-2yr period. Pretty likely class balance will work its way out via transfers, NBA entries, injuries/retirements, redshirts, etc. I would guess it's pretty rare to have a 4 or 5 man high school finish their college careers together.

A couple of things:

1.) There will be attrition.
2.) Tyler Harris is a top 70 recruit and a stone cold killa! I WANT this kid rocking Hilton with shots and confidence like that.
3.) Prohm has thrived with guards who can score with the best of them. Harris, Wigginton and THT are all big time scorers.
4.) People calling for a stretch four...Georges Niang 2.0 is not going to fall into our laps. You don't pass on a special player in hopes of what might be out there on the transfer market. The transfer thing didn't work out too well this spring for us.

Yes, if all of them are talented.

I’d love to add a very talented juco or grad transfer for next year, but this staff hasn’t had a lot of luck getting those guys.
