With a desperate need for another ball handler, I'd go with Jefferson walking the ball up Niang/Royce White style to create defensive sag by their bigs. Many chance we have comes in a game in the 50s

The Jefferson / Roberts matchup is going to be a major key to this game. JJ has a bit of size on him, but Roberts has really matured in his 5th year. Jefferson handling the ball can put Roberts in tough spots, defensively, but he's good at managing his fouls and is used to playing 35+ minutes a game.

Uzon has improved immensely with Houston over what he was at OU, he's cut his TO rate by half since his freshman year and is shooting 40% from 3. but I still think Lipsey still has the advantage on him - although without Gilbert and Jones, Lipsey may draw Cryer more.

Milan is going to have to play more '3' than he usually would and his matchup with Sharp will be interesting to watch too - he has a big height advantage if he can get isolated (Houston is obviously very good at avoiding that) - but Milan needs to make sure he doesn't lose Sharp on the defensive end - he's the guy who do the most damage offensively for Houston and it would have been Jones guarding him for much of the game. I'd guess Watson will take him when he's in - and we'll hopefully see Demarion more at the 3 than we have.

If Iowa State wins, this is how it happens.
1. Can't be ice cold from 3.
2. Need to push the pace and take early looks if they are open. The half court offense is likely to be rough.
3. Heise looking like the go to guy from UNI. He has hit a few shots lately, but has also driven it to the hole.
4. Houston looking ahead to Monday night. They might overlook Iowa State and I could see their players slack off a bit because of that.

If we can hold them under 65 I think that is our best chance

Wonder if we revert back to first couple years of Otzelball and try to junk the game up?

I feel like a sicko with my excitement for this game. Otz’s defensive schemes today will be awesome. Milan taking 15-20 field goals today.

The secret’s out on Jefferson, just flash a double and he’s liable to turn it over. Same with Jackson. Lipsey and Heise will switch everything against Houston’s guards, but if either gets in foul trouble it’s game over, Uzan is like Jones in the paint and probably a bit better. Momcilovic will get lost on switches if I had to guess, he tends to ball watch and didn’t block out well even against Colorado

There is a slight edge for us, in that Houston has no idea what we'll look like playing without these two guys. It could completely change our dynamic on offense (or completely blow up in our face).
