I agree with you, but once they prove they CAN / ARE pulling off those passes AND they show they are going to shoot out of their minds now that they have confidence, you have to pull back into a more straight up form of D. Most of their 3s earlier on were from the pass out of the near trap. Later, it simply didn;'t matter what we did becuase they were playing with BIG house money and when you are loose like that, you're going to put eveything in.
Good points here. Momentum and confidence, at home, are crazy effective drugs. Must adjust quickly and constantly to try anything an everything to get them out of rhythm. Sometimes it’s impossible, but the absolute LAST thing to do is to change “nothing”.

Two adjustments that might help..

Play Jones less and...
give Lipsey the green light.

It's starting to be 5-4 when they sag off Lipsey.......and with Jones out there at the same time it's basically 5-3.

Lipsy isn't supposed to shoot the 3. But I'm not sure why that is any worse than Jones missing 5 layups a game.

So I went out to scoop snow about midway through the second half. Now looking at the boxscore, it says Hawley played? How did he look?

Maybe because we thought it would actually be fair and at the time we should have gotten the best SEC teams in Hilton. Instead we get a bunch of road games against middling programs like Vanderbilt and Texas A&M when we were really good. Then when we sucked badly they try to give us Auburn and Tennesse home games which we had no chance of winning.

You're telling me with how good we've been since 2012 we couldn't get Kentucky in Hilton once? The whole thing is a complete joke.

Pretty sure it's always been or at least been very close to KU/UK ever year of the thing.

They needed to milk the blue blood angle as much as possible.

Otherwise the mid-season thing has just been awkward and Gameday this morning proved it was just another reason for ESPN to SEC all over themselves.

Yeah, I get it, and why did we have to play Missouri 2 years in a row? They sucked badly last year so probably shouldn't have even been in this. 14 SEC teams and they couldn't have worked out something else besides Missouri again?

Only reason today sucked is that a win would put us in the top 10 and I wanted that. Otherwise a team shooting as good as Missouri from 3 today and not a lot of teams come out with a win.

Maybe short bans start getting handed out to any posters that point out these teams' 3 point % or say they can't do this or that since the teams seem to do those things when ISU comes around.

Joking but that keeps happening.

I know, but with teams adjusting maybe he better start looking. Second game in a row where they are sagging way off Lipsey.

Add to that if Jones is in...........ISU becomes a fairly easy team to defend.

Gonna be a big key for Tamin this offseason. As of now, he's not a shooter but I'd rather have a guy know that than jack 'em up regardless. Need to find a way to counter the complete sag as I would guess we see that more this year, though.
