Hok fans are hating our success. Their delusional predictions of us being in a JV conference have proven to lack any serious merit, and I hope they enjoy seeing Matt hoisting the Big 12 trophy while Kirk cashes another paycheck while preparing his team for another ass kicking from a SEC team in a mayonnaise bowl.

No Remo, the new narrative is Iowa is going 10-2 and will be in the CFP playoff.

Did you not see them dismantle the national champion runner-up yesterday? Iowa is back up!

It's because the only things he does "well" are very flashy and dynamic. Runs and deep balls. It's obvious he's not accurate or consistent from the pocket, and he makes poor decisions.

He was also showing up the refs all game, really letting them have it on camera directly to their face

He's a less powerful Joel Lanning with poor character.
Lannig is a bad comparison.

WVU Coach Brown post game: "We struggled to find a rhythm on offense tonight." (This seems to be a weekly coincidence for teams that face the Cyclone defense.)

Thanks coach Heacock for the awesome job you and your defensive staff do to prepare the players,, pre-game schemes and in game adjustments against the opposition weekly.

At this point in his career I think Rocco is better than Purdy.
Rocco has more talent around him than Brock ever did—with the exception of RB, where there’s still more functional depth than there was behind Breece.

I’m constantly bemused how CW keeps trying to compare this OL to the ‘20 unit, as if that were some pinnacle to reach. Those guys were just passable.

It didn't seem like WVU ran the ball as much as I thought they would, and probably not as much as they should've.

Some of their open receivers were frustrating, but I'm wondering if some of that wasn't by design to bait them into throwing more? It eventually paid dividends with the back to back INTs.

It's possible I'm overthinking it. I can't argue with 16 points and a 2nd half shutout up until garbage time.

This is also the most creativity in the run game I’ve seen since Steve Loney was on staff. Monty would’ve feasted if he could get to the second level untouched as often as Hansen and Jackson do. Mouser is absolutely killing it with what he’s added

Mouser has not been talked about enough this year IMO. It felt like it took NS 5-6 weeks last year to find his groove as a play caller , but Mouse has been absolutely fantastic from the first series against UND

His color guy is terrible. I think he throws Brando off a bit with his babbling.
Gardiner is extremely raw, but I thought he was 10x better than he was last week, and he kinda clowned Brando, and Brando needed it last night. One of the most bizarre broadcasting performances I've ever seen. I've never heard a guy misidentify so many players in a single game. The Rocco running first down. The PI on WVU. He sounded like he had money on WVU.

He's not as dynamic, but Rocco right now is performing better than Purdy as a senior. That said, if Purdy was in this offense, I think we would've won a lot more games and he would've been drafted much higher. He also had a much worse OL.

One other comment on the defense. It's easy to say it now, but I was sort of encouraged that even though West Virginia scored on that first drive that it took them a long time to do it. We were close to getting off the field a couple of times there and that seemed a bit different than early in the Baylor game.

I had a similar thought. Although I still prefer not to play from behind, I wasn't too rattled. A quick TD might've led to a pace that could work against us, esp. considering crowd probably jacked with the special uniforms, night game et al.

Pace of the game seemed to keep crowd "momentum" out of it all night.

I knew when we threw it downfield on the first play of the year that we were in for a treat! I would have taken heavy odds that the first play of the year would be a run.

Remember those days when we always ran a hurry-up offense (under Rhoads), charging up the middle for little to no gain? It feels so refreshing to have Mouser at the helm. For the first time in a while that I can remember, we were the aggressors right before halftime. We also executed a fake reverse, option play, and the throw to Higgins while West Virginia was stopping the clock with pity timeouts. Mouser utilizes the entire field. Now, our offense complements the defense.

NS had a bunch of rookies.

TM has a bunch of veterans to work with.

I loved that game where we played Iowa at the end of the year. Seneca's first year and it was a fun change-up, both teams were decent that year so it had meaningfulness for bowl game positioning.

Was also the year we beat Alabama in that bowl game but refs decided to disallow our game-winning field goal.

I’m pretty confident Heacock will retire here at this point but we need to unload the clip (as much as we are able) to keep Mouser here for as long as possible.
