Not going to lie if Niang thinks he can play through it and the trainers/fred say no I am pretty disappointed. If I am Niang and that happens I am extremely ******.

Woke up this morning, and it just feels like we lost last night. I feel terrible for Georges, but there is no doubt he is getting his teammates ready to take his spot.

Here is the chance for Edozie and Thomas to step up and potentially become Cyclone legends. Edozie with the interior d and Thomas (and Long) with the three. If Mercer can beat Duke, ISU can be NC without Niang. Not easy but not impossible. This could be ISU' s best moment of the season. Think about it, ISU beats NC without Niang.

I think a lot of Clone fans already think this is possible if we shoot lights out.

Fans are lamenting "what could have been" after this Sunday. The ceiling got significantly lower with Georges. We have no bigs that can create down low...and that will not carry us past Villanova/Mich St.

Using what reasoning? Can he physically not run, or walk? Would the pain be too unbearable? Can it get worse?

From what I gather, these specific fractures are difficult ones to heal due to limited bloodflow, plus that bone gets yanked around by various tendons a lot. The last thing we need is this injury to get worse/not heal, then bleed over into something that affects next year and possibly Georges' career.

The dude has a broken bone in his foot. He's not going to play. It would only hurt his future basketball career and the team if he did try to play. It's a sad deal it happened, but it's not the end of the world. Next guy in, we'll be fine

It's a shame that the DB's from EICC are mocking his injury right now on their web page. He a TRUE warrior and and wears ISU uniform well.

Heck, even after he had the broken bone in his foot he limped down and made a 2 point bucket on it and by doing so scored more points then the Hoks did in their OT period loss as they were trying to get into the BIG Dance. They are in Full Blown "Little Bro" mode now.

With that, I trust all ISU fans stay classy in difficults times for all sport teams and fans......Go Cyclones

Didn't Wes Johnson end up leaving because our coaches let him play through injuries? (at least that's the excuse we heard)

If he were a senior with no pro future ahead, I'd maybe look at this different. But Fred can't take a chance that this gets worse and Georges won't be able to train in the off-season.

So I've woken up seeing the light and am feeling ok. But that said, have some fun with it. I fully expect the ISU fans in San Antonio to go to the nearest medical supply store and buy a walking cast to wear to Sundays game! Support Georges!!!!!

Yeah, the team didn't get to this spot based on the play of one guy.

I won't go any further because it would veer off into "Hoosiers" or BWW commercial territory.

I think with Wes it was more we didn't think he was badly hurt and challenged him to play through it. Then he found out later it was a worse injury than originally thought. He probably felt like the coaches didn't have his best interests in mind.

Completely different situation here.

I was thinking the other day how incredibly healthy we have been all season. Only games without any of our players was the first two where Ejim was injured.

That said, not sure why so many on these boards are freaking out about the injury and our "upside"? Let the coaches coach and players play. Would I love to have a hot-shooting, confident Georges healthy and starting? Of course, but Endozie and Gibson are serviceable and UNC can't scout something they haven't seen if we go small ball.
Monte and Hogue are playing out of their mind right now while Kane and Ejim are firing on all cylinders. Don't give up on these Cyclones because of Georges 5th metatarsal.
