In this podcast, Jamie mentions that the first phase of CyTown was approved by the BoR last week, and will begin utility work after the football season.
There will be a Sukup showroom...Any guesses who the "couple" of anchor tenants are that have signed on to CyTown so far?
Rumors about 6 months ago were a certain brewery in NE Iowa. But that rumor seems to have lost steam
Yeah I think that location will be closer to Des MoinesAny guesses who the "couple" of anchor tenants are that have signed on to CyTown so far?

That would make sense. Perhaps close the location on Duff?Cys Locker room for sure
Honestly could do better business near the Iowa State Center, especially on game days. I think they took away that tent last season that was in front of the Olsen building before, no?That would make sense. Perhaps close the location on Duff?
They still had the Cy's locker room trailers on the South side of the stadium for every game, never got over to the North side to see if the tent was still there or no.Honestly could do better business near the Iowa State Center, especially on game days. They still had the tent there, first one across the street from the stadium. They still had the Cy's locker room trailers on the South side of the stadium for every game, never got over to the North side to see if the tent was still there or no.
I could see that doing well in Ames.Smash park would fit in I would think. Notice they have one in pella now.
That brewery (Toppling Goliath) is either going here or DSM. I have some sources on that. Pollard (and ISU) have flown to Decorah for meetings about it.Any guesses who the "couple" of anchor tenants are that have signed on to CyTown so far?

Ames had a Sports Authority kind of by Target that didn't last long. It then became a pet store.I would hope Cy's Locker room isnt the biggest name tennant but something that would attract visitors on gameday and the other 359 days of the year. Does Ames have a Dicks or Scheels? Tailgating supplies and sports wear would be a good fit, maybe like a sized down version.
A bar/restaurant (or two) is a given. And I could see a Smash Park type of concept working there, its basically a giant beer hall with tailgate games, sounds fun af.
Legion of bouncers keeping out the underage students will be interesting...
Iowa Marching Band seats.Visiting team locker room
I can as well, just not in that location. I'd imagine they would try to get establishments that could be utilized more during tailgating settings, and I just don't see Smash Park fitting that mold.I could see that doing well in Ames.
Lol wutSmash park would fit in I would think. Notice they have one in pella now.
