You might want to give Community and 30 rock a try. The entire Thursday comedy lineup is pretty good save for Parks and Rec. But other than that I too will be ditching NBC until Leno is off the air.

Hell I might even DVR Letterman and immeadiately delete it if it'll hurt Leno.
Unless you're doing the Nielson ratings it really doesn't matter.

How do they actually do the Nielsen ratings?
I think it's just people at random across the United States. They used to fill out a log, but I think now they hook something to their TV. At any rate, I don't think it's a very exact science anymore. With the number of options these days I'd think it'd be hard to get a good sampling of who is watching what.

In some markets people have a box hooked up to their tv that reports back to Nielsen what they watched, and then Nielsen bases their results on the total population area.

Other markets write them in a "diary" of what they watched when, and the same method is used. It didn't take into account DVR viewing in the past, but I think they are working on that now. It's really a joke in my opinion how they measure results.

This site has been pretty quick with Conan updates if anyone is interested...sounds like the ratings recently have taken a turn for the better for him...

Wouldn't NBC have to continue paying Conan for the remaining 3 and half years in order to keep him off the air?

Yes, I think that is what Zucker wanted to do, that way when his time is up people will have moved on and he wouldn't be a threat to them to take ratings.
