I heard a Hollywood talking head the other day suggesting that FOX may not be interested in getting into the late night wars. They are doing well financially, and may not want to risk the money required to get into that programming area.

Anyway, too bad for Conan. I like him. Maybe NBC will move Law and Order (original) back to Wednesday at 9:00, when I can actually watch it.

Maybe Fox can bring him back on board with the Simpsons. That show has been on the decline for a while now, maybe bringing back some of the old writers could get a few more miles out of the series.

Let's see how ecstatic they are when they start losing advertisers after they realize they have lost the 18-49 demographic. The ads for Jay will start to look like commercials for the price is right, all geritol and metamucil. We've got to keep those old guys regular!

Conan is a great guy, even if I didn't catch on to his show and comedy. I feel bad for people getting screwed by the jerks in the corner offices.

This. Conan will survive but I know he is worried about everyone behind the scenes that uprooted to come to do the Tonight Show with him. Outside of sports, I'm done with NBC.

NBC used to have some good shows, about 5-10 years ago, but lately, almost everything has flat-out sucked. Now, Jeff Zucker, who's about as evil of a guy as you can get in TV, is totally screwing this up, and screwing over Conan and his family, who packed up and moved out to LA so he could host "Tonight." I'm sure Jay is probably happy to be going back to late night, but I bet even he feels bad for Conan. The worst thing is, everyone is going to cast Jay as the villain after all of this. He didn't really want to retire the first time, and then NBC made the choice to keep him rather than have him go to ABC or some other network.

So, basically, screw NBC. There's a reason they are the #4 network, and I think about every show on CBS (and a lot on FOX) sucks, except maybe Big Bang Theory, so if you use that reasoning, NBC just really sucks, and they've probably lost a big chunk of the 18-39 audience for a long time with this move.

back to letterman.

it sucks that conan's worked his butt off for years to get the prime spot. Now they're making Leno looking like the hero trying to "help" NBC.

If Letterman really wanted to ride off into the sunset sticking it to Leno/NBC/the man he'd step down and convince CBS to bring in Conan.

Ha, yeah. Angie mentioned this a couple days ago. I would love to see Conan crush NBC. The mere hype of it would bring huge numbers to The Late Show. Conan would have endless NBC jokes.

Id thought that would be a good idea, but given that Craig Ferguson's show is produced by Letterman's production company, i would assume When letterman retires he'll push for Ferguson to move up so he still gets paid.

Didn't think of that. Does Conan have his own production company or were both his shows produced by NBC?
