Tied for 39th in the nation. Eight teams in the Big 12 received votes.

Always good to get recognition, but if that was the performance of a top 40 team, I'm not very excited about college football this year.

They must not have watched the game.... I'm shocked we got votes.

The game where we went on the road and won in a Big 10 stadium?

You do realize that there were teams out there that lost at home to Louisiana Monroe, on the road to Oregon St and UCLA. And your being negative about us winning a road game in a place we hadn't won in a decade?

Perhaps they saw that without the mistakes, we would have won by 14 to 21? Obviously the better team on the field.

Exactly this. This shows our potential as the season goes on, so it makes sense why we might get some votes, especially in the early season where things like turnovers can be viewed as something that can get cleaned up since its early.

Now, we just have to actually get that under control, and we can be a pretty good team.

I think if we blew Texas Tech out we might (and I mean might) have a chance to break the plane. If not, if we beat TCU at their place and start 5-0 we would be in for certain.

First of all, its not that the offense didn't play well. They simply had enough bad luck for the entire season in the red zone in one game. One of those fumbles to me appeared as if it popped out when his back hit the ground but there was no replay and they really didn't show it on TV very well. I was reading in collegefootballnews.com that "what appeared to be a touchdown" was ruled back for Iowa. WTF? "appeared to be a touchdown?????" the play was so obviously out of bounds. How could you even say that it "appeared to be a touchdown?" ISU tried what seemed like a few too many times for the bomb dagger to no avail. I like our chances this season.

The SEC gets a ton of teams ranked with outstanding defense. A poor offensive performance doesn't mean you can't be a top 25 team.
