Sorry, I meant that first iowa team that Mac beat was terrible. One of the other posters called Mac ending the 15 game streak a great accomplishment. That UI team won one game.

They were 3-8 HF’s last year, 1998, the year Mac snapped the 15 year streak. Not good, but early in the year you wouldn’t have known that is how they would finish.

The year prior though was close to, 7-5, and a few years prior to that was kind of their model at HF’s end. Beat a weak ISU to go 6-5 in the regular season, and the mighty Big 10, to make a bowl game. They were weaker than they appeared at the time.

They were 1-10 in 1999, KF’s first year.

Yeah, too soon to call the season over for sure when under campbell we have generally started slow and then gotten much better into october.

This year could still reasonably be the same record as last year, with us trading Baylor and TCU out in the w\l column.

ISU looks good on paper. They just need to be consistent and I put the right there in the top with OU and Texas. Neither of which look like world beaters. Good teams but not unbeatable.

7-5, a winning record. A bit disappointed, yes. However, we are going bowling again with a very young team. It’s fair to question some of the decisions as along as people don’t go into meltdown mode. At the end of the day, people forget where we were 3 years ago. 7-5 > 3-9. I do think there will be a (couple) change to the coaching staff. Next years OL and DL are suspect but the future is bright with more talent.
