First off, the reason critics hated Styx was because they a) suck and b) ripped off the Who hardcore... Greatest rock artists... In no order

Rolling Stones
The Who
Led Zeppelin
Allman Bros
Eric Clapton
Nirvana
GNR
Pearl Jam
The Boss
Bob Dylan
The Band
Beatles
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Hendrix
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Neil Young

You are my hero. All of these plus I'll add one more really important player in early rock n' roll.... Johnny Cash. Read the biography "A Man Called Cash", that guy was freaking crazy.

I'm 22 and love old music too, new music for the most part is horrible except for one bright spot, The Raconteurs. For you guys that like old stuff, try listening to early blues music. Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, BB King. All of these great bands got their inspiration from these guys.

It's pretty obvious who my favorite band is:yes:

Thank you kindly. I mentioned JC in a later post. He is the man. Also, Raconteurs are awesome as well (as well as anything Jack White touches). If you like the bands in my list, listen to the Drive-By Truckers NOW. Your faith in modern music may be restored.

When I was a baby, my parents idea of a good time was to drive around with a 12 pack, checking crops, and blaring Steely Dan and Tom Petty albums with me in the car seat. I used to run around singing "Dirty Work" as a little kid. Great band.

Steely Dan is awesome. Dirty Work, Do It Again, Reelin' in the Years, Rikki Don't Lose That Number. They're all gold.

Amen Are they together or touring at all anymore would love to see them?
By the way Im going to that Pink Floyd show at Val Air next weekend, Do they sound like the originals, never been to one of those shows?

In no perticular order

1. AC/ DC - you have kids listening to them now and they started in 1970's
2 Ronnie James Dio - his voice is the best in years next to Chris Cornell
3. Black Sabbath - Can Ozzy just sing when he talks
4. Metallica - Nothing better then a red headed kid having his mop flop all over the place when he plays Bass. R.I.P. Who has not heard of the "Black Album"
5. Led Zepplin- Who can forget there songs, to many to state
6. Deep Purple - plain down to earth metal
7. Jimi Hendrix - most popular guitarist and doper
8. Rush - Geddy Lee is a phenom and all want to play like Neil Peart on the drums. Mr. exact and precise. Just look at his skins.
9. Megadeth - Like metallica almost, just down and dirty metal
10. Linkin Park
11. Audioslave - combination of rage against the machine and soundgarden and boy is it kick ***
