Yeah, if you want to look at Gortat's stats, look at his ppg/reb per minute and his stats when Dwight Howard was suspended. He's serviceable. He's nothing special, but he is serviceable.

Gorat is probably the 2nd best backup center in the league after Big Z.

Guys relatively young and is solid. Plus Houston may not have the services of Yao for ... ever. They need to stockpile some Center options.

He's already saying that he had an offer for the MLE which is about 5.4 million I think.
Be interesting to see where the Bucks Villienueva goes wether that is Cleveland or Detroit.

I heard the pistons are going after ben Gordon pretty hard

Ben Gordon to Detroit for 5 years and 55 Million

As a Bulls fan I say good riddance. Who really needs a guy that plays NO DEF and is astreaky offensive player at best. It is going to fun kicking gordon and Pistons around next year. Hopefully that means Hinrich is staying. Hated the guy as a jayhawk, but as Bull he has my respect.

Pistons are getting solid players at solid prices ... now if they hadn't f'd things up with the AI trade.

I have mixed feeling about losing Gordon. I do believe he was the teams leading scorer for like the last 5 years.

If they still had Chauncey's contract, they wouldn't have the luxury of giving out absolutely awful contracts right now. Bill Simmons said it best: Statement from Pistons to fans: "Look, any time you can tank a season for the chance to spend $95 mill on 2 non-AllStars, you gotta do it."

Bulls all the sudden are pretty thin at guard. Rose and Salmons the starters and the guy rumored to be on the trade block Hinrich now is the lone solid bench guy. Only other guards currently listed on the roster are less than impressive with Lindsey Hunter, Anthony Roberson, and DeMarcus Nelson. Bulls really need to trade some of their excess bigmen like Tyrus Thomas and one of their 2 PF they drafted for a SG/SF kind of guy or even that legit low post scorer they have lacked for many seasons now.

They have their starters and a main backup. They can pick up a role player guard through free agency. They're in an exponentially better situation now than if they were to still owe big money to the likes of Larry Hughes or if they had signed Gordon long term.

They said Cleveland had a lot of interest. I would like that deal for them much more than the Shaq deal.

ESPN just reported, regarding Shaq, that 50%(maybe 53%) respondents to a Cleveland Plain-Dealer poll voted that Shaq is the missing piece to help them get that championship. Doesn't this imply that 47% don't, or at least remain somewhat unconvinced?

10% of those responding voted that Shaq was past his prime. 10%???

Yeah, I really hope they keep Hinrich and he picks up some of Gordon's minutes. He can return to the stats he had previously and play some defense.
