Could I use the antenna that Mediacom gave me during the whole FOX fiasco before I finally got smart and gave them the boot for good?
Probably.

I just switched to DTV.......good timing I guess!Another reason DirecTV is the better choice.
Adding the OTA is a great add-on to a Dish HD-DVR. Basically you can 'watch' four channels at once.
keep the locals so you can see what is one in the guide. Otherwise you loose that ability. Adding the OTA is a great add-on to a Dish HD-DVR. Basically you can 'watch' four channels at once.

When have ISU games been on WOI??? Is that ABC?? If so, I doubt we will be on ABC this year.

I don't think many FB games have been on...YET, but isn't Channel 5 the channel that carries a lot of the MBB games on it during the season being the local channel. I am pretty sure I watched quite a few MBB games on WOI over the years when I couldn't make it up there or they were on the road.
What is a good HD antenna cost? I am probably going to have to get one now.
A good one will cost $50, in waukee you will need a littler bigger one than I got in ankeny. Probably a 4 bay one will work great for you. Depends on if you can mount it outside or if you need to toss it in the attic.
Here is the antenna I have (thx, brianhos).
It's currently mounted to the east side of my deck, around one of the ballisters. I'm going to move it to the roof eventually and may even upgrade to the DB4 (double the size of the one I have) for increased signal strength. I don't need more signal stregnth 95% of the time though.

I think that only catches UHF HD correct? when the analog signals go bye-bye in Feb, 5 and 8 should broadcast their HD back in VHF. Currently they are broadcasting their HD in UHF (>13)
I am I wrong?

hmmmm, I'll have to check this out when I get home tonight. I live in Des Moines so guess just get a simple over the air HD box should be enough for me. I would guess that you'll see it back before long, DISH is not going to lose a major network like ABC for the long term I'd think. On the plus side no more Grey's Anatomy... :biglaugh:

Yeah you are correct. I am not really sure it matters all that much, but if it does, I will just swap out with a new antenna.
