Food sits on the shelf forever because nobody is there to buy it. The bread aisle is the worst.
The dates on said food say otherwise.

The taste of the food backs me 100%, that place is ****. Hey but at least it's expensive. The dates on said food say otherwise.
I plan around Fareway being closed on Sunday and respect them for it. I am old enough that I remember as a child that Sunday was always family day. No one worked and we spent the day together, went to church, had a big Sunday dinner, maybe went fishing or visited relatives. Seems like my own kids Sundays were always crammed with soccer, baseball, or something. I am sure it loses them money but they obviously put some things above money.
I've been going to the Dahls in Ames the last 3 years. I have zero complaints. Certainly isn't crowded, but as a shopper, how is that a negative?
The Dahls in Ankeny is a nice store actually. And being able to push a cart through aisles without annoying shoppers is a good thing. HATE HyVee, in Ankeny at least. People everywhere. Store is huge. Can't get through the aisles. Have to take a break from walking because it is so far back in the store just to get a gallon of milk. And Fareway? A vending machine has more selection than them.
You have been overpaying for 3 years.
I don't want to see anyone lose their job but Dahl's isn't competitive at all.
Compared with what? I suppose it's probably cheaper than buying stuff at the gas station next door.Receipt comparisons suggest otherwise.

I've shopped at Walmart, east and west hyvee, and aldees (though this doesn't compare). Some items are more expensive, some are cheaper. Pretty much a wash.

I still feel guilty when I mow my lawn on Sundays. That was a big no no when I was growing up.
I think Hy-Vee and Dahl's would be close, but Aldi (although I agree it's a different animal) is muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch cheaper, Walmart and Fareway would be next and more similar, distantly followed by Hy-vee and Dahl's.
Anybody get that 1.75L of UV at Fareway for $9.99? Deal of a lifetime we bought 4!
