i don't really care if we are ranked for the rest of the year. We only play worse as the ranking gets higher. We play better with a chip on our shoulder.

2 wins this week would be huge! If we could somehow go 4-1 with our next 5 games (with only KU remaining), I image we would have a great shot at cracking the top 10. Would solidify a 4 seed, and make a great case for 3 seed.

Let's go Cyclones! Start with a W at Baylor!

And then use the Big 12 tournament to move up to a #2 seed!

15's about right. They do enough to be legit/ranked, but do things like the last 10 minutes of Baylor, WV and Tech that keep them from getting higher.

This should be a very interesting next couple of weeks.

Iowa will play in Des Moines unless they fall to a 4 seed. Even then, they may.

The AP voters can't fathom not having a BIG team in the top 5 this late in year so I'm not surprised...WTS..Iowa hasn't earned being #4 at this point and the way they've played last 2 games..no. I sometimes wonder if voters mistake Iowa for Iowa St when voting in polls...lol. Iowa is not a 1 seed right now. Not with a non top 10 RPI and SOS in the 30's...nope. It's only going to get worse for Iowa too as their remaining schedule is mostly a complete joke. Lose one of those they shouldn't and they might drop out of 2 seed.

I'm still amazed by the fact that we have the third longest streak of being ranked in the Top 25. In the realm of blue bloods, that is unfathomable for ISU.

If we get to #10 in human polling (which means we'd pretty much have to stay unbeaten for a few weeks) I'm guessing we're top 5 in RPI. Big 12 RPI will get a boost when none of our 6-7 NCAA teams play a bad team in conference tournament play and the best teams from other leagues generally start with a sub 100 team.

Column in Omaha paper today about selection committee process. Per Creighton Athletic Director Bruce Rasmussen who is on the committee: "RPI is like a 5-iron. You might use it. Not used as much as people think". He also referred to other metrics that are used that measure offensive and defensive efficiency, particularly named KenPom. Somewhat downplayed Top 50 wins, as misleading.

So Creighton is a bubble team and the Creighton AD tells the Omaha Paper that they don't use RPI as much as you think and they use KenPom. Interesting
