Felt like they were going to give that away with the advantage twice

I am a casual fan, but watched the entire match tonight. I was super prepared for the nut cup moment when we missed #5 PK that could have finished it. Keeper came up great.

I caught the whole game today for the first time since they replaced Berhalter. Damn…the entire roster looks different. I saw that Pepi is out for the year with a knee.

Liked what I saw out of Diego Luna. Little guy, but looked to have some quickness, good balance and some handles. On the flip side, not a single player frustrated me more than Patrick Agyemang. Maybe it’s because these guys are so young and haven’t played a lot with each other, but he seemed to not be on the same page with anyone else all night and when a pass finally found his feet, he took way too long to gather to do anything with it.

Couldn’t have been more impressed with Freese. Not much he could have done on the CRC goal in the 71st minute. He’s defense fell asleep and let him down on that one. But he was nails in PKs.

Looks like the US has had Guatemala’s number over their competitive, H2H series (friendly’s are even, but US has a large advantage in competition matches), but surprisingly haven’t played each other a lot. Just 13 times in the last 20 years.

This feels just like the Panama and Canadian games. I don’t feel good at all in PK’s with the difference in keepers.
I didn't have a lot of confidence either, because I knew nothing about Freese and with Navas between the posts on the other end. He's always great against the US. I'm definitely feeling better about Freese now!

To be a little cliche, it's definitely "a game of inches". That curler from CRC that hit the post towards the end of the game should have finished it in regulation. He had Freese and the US dead to rights with that shot. Missed it by "that" much.

Glad the US was able to pull it out. This might be a B(or C) team but I always enjoy watching and supporting US soccer. Plus, in this case, it's fun to watch some of the younger guys get a chance and see them grow into it a bit as the tournament goes on.
